You would really like Mackinac Island in upper Michigan. It is romantic, old world and breath takingly beautiful. It is where the movie "Somewhere in Time" with Jane Seymore and Christopher Reeve was filimed.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a great place to chill out and as you know is close to the Niagara casino and Wine country of Southern Ontario which offer free tours and tasting. |

There is a beautiful area in Hulbert MI just in the Upper Pennensula close to Taquamenon Falls & very nice for a weekend getaway. There's a lake, lodge, cabins, camping, hiking, fishing, nature trails, all make for a nice active but peaceful weekend getaway.
