Where would be a good place in Canada to get married in September, coming from the USA with 10 guests? |
We are a 25 years old and seeking to take a destiniation wedding to Canada, where we have never been. We will only have about 10-12 guests come, and I will be wearing a ballgown. We would like to find a pretty place or a chapel to get married in and a hotel to stay with our guests that will make the weekend fun and interesting. Any suggestions? |

Try Vancouver Island, which is still warm at that time of year. There are lots of great photo opportunities on the coast, and tons of beautiful venues. You won't get bored either, as Victoria is a busy city with lots to do, and there are many outdoor activities from whale-watching to hiking. I'll link to some popular Vancouver Island venues below.
^ Note to the person above, Victoria Island is in the Arctic Circle and relatively unpopulated. Vancouver Island is in just off the coast of Vancouver and Seattle, and is home to about one million inhabitants! |

My husband and I got married in the chapel at the University of Victoria. It is small, bright, and the grounds are beautiful. We stayed at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. When we checked in, they gave us a tiny little room (not without it's charm), but when I explained that we were getting married the next day and we had a couple of friends coming for the day, they bumped us up to a suite for no charge. Given the chance, we'd do everything exactly the same. |

If you like water, Vancouver is stunningly beautiful. Late summer/fall there is wonderful; not too hot, and rare rain. There is so much for you and your guests to see and do: Stanley Park, a fantastic aquarium, a ferry to take you to Vancouver Island (also beautiful but more likely to rain), Capilano Suspension Bridge (so cool), lots of places to hike, and of course an amazing night life as well (check out Kitsilano for very down to earth fun people)

Banff is beautiful. September should be off season so it should be cheaper than the summer. You can see the mountains, beautiful lakes, icefields, etc. Banff has some really nice hotels. Another good place to get married would be Lake Louise..which isn't far from Banff. The scenery is out of this world. You would fly into Calgary, Alberta and get transportion to Banff or Lake Louise. A dream wedding in the mountains!! |

Banff is okay, but even in the off-season is crowded. Lake Louise is very pretty, but also crowded. Now Jasper is wonderful. Beautiful - look at Jasper Park Lodge as a possible venue and there aren't nearly as many people to trip over. Be sure to look At the link for maclab hotels. It has a wedding special and is cheaper than the fairmont, which is is a great place to have a wedding too. |
