Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks and Strathmore are the 4 places around Calgary that are closest.

There are a lot of smaller places in all directions. Lots of wonderful small towns.

How far out of Calgary is your limit? 20 minutes? 40 min?

moglie
How about High River?
High River is located just 20 minutes south of Calgary, population of 10,716. (2006). It is 37 kilometres (23 mi) south of the city of Calgary

McKenzie Towne is gorgeous...it's within the city limits, about 20 mins south of the city centre. Another 15 minutes further south brings you to Okotoks which is also nice.

If you want to live on the north side, then Tuscany is lovely (north west) and is also within the city limits, or if you prefer a town outside of Calgary you could check out Cochrane, or if your budget is healthy then Canmore is absolutely beautiful!

Check out www.mls.ca if you are thinking of buying a house.

Whats That About?
I suggest Okotoks. its close to Calgary and theres lots of places there

Cohcrane, only 20 min. from NW Calgary where the LRT station is, major shopping area, no industrial area, close to the mountains , a lot with the mountain view, several different routes to go DT. The University, SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology), Foothill Hospital ( the largest hospital in Calgary) Children Hospital, Alberta College of Art, Jubilee Auditoriun are all in the NW.

Libby, Montana, isn't all that far from Canada.....and its about 22 hundred folks, and close to tons of wildlife, and camping, fishing and Canada....and the "Great Divide",,,,and some very beautiful country..... if ya don't mind the bitter cold. It stays cold there till about mid-June or early July..... But the town is peaceful, restful, and beautiful.....and close to everything.......... I loved it there, maybe hope to retire there some day.
