Toronto is where the jobs and the action are, and it's where the vast majority of new Canadians go.
The cost of living is moderate to high but you'll make more money there.
If you are a francophone you may do better in Montreal.
Calgary is booming but still way behind Toronto.
Everbody says "Vancouver" but it's not a job center and the cost of housing is brutal.
See you in T.O.! |

I think it really depends on what kind of job you are looking for. Different cities are known for different types. |

calgary has lots of jobs, good pay depending on your experience and what type of job you're looking for. housing prices are high in calgary and rent is a bit out of control. |

If you want a stable job, with average salary, and an ordinary way of living; I advise you to try any city in the Saskatchewan province (Regina, Saskatoon, etc.). Winnipeg is also a good option. These cities employ a lot of immigrants nowadays because the prairie province is now on its way to bigger establishments, commercials, etc., which will soon make the cities more urbanized. They can also be great destinations to live in since they're not yet overpopulated.
If you're more of a "business-minded" person, who's not into "ordinary-living" and prefers high lifestyle; then Vancouver, Montreal or any highly-urbanized city is best for you. |

Calgary is by far the best city for job opportunity. It has recently been awarded the best city in the country (in some poll or something).
The downsides to Calgary is the labour shortage generally means a very hard working, fast paced lifestyle,... and stuff gets to be pretty pricey. The winters can be pretty brutal as well.
But.. if you're looking for jobs, Calgary or Edmonton... or pretty much anywhere in Alberta is where you will find the best opportunity hands down. |

Toronto, Ontario is the city of oppotunity, but it is also expensive (especially if you live downtown). You can always live in Scarbrough or Missisauga (cities nearby) and commute to your job in Toronto, as living right outside Toronto will be cheaper.
=] It depends what you're budget is, & what type of job you're looking for!
Other big cities in Canada include
Vancouver/Victoria, British Columbia
Calgary, Alberta
Montreal/Quebec City, Quebec

In terms of jobs, definitely Toronto. But it's a very expensive city to live in, so I would suggest living in the suburbs of Toronto, like Mississauga, Vaughn or Markham and commuting. |

1. Vancouver - not so much snow and beautiful city next to the ocean and mountains.
2. Victoria - as above
3. Calgary - good employment rates, friendly people, close to the Rockies and clean city |
