Vancouver has everything in it or near it.
Great world class city, beaches, natural beauty, scenery, mountains and lakes nearby for excellent fun in summer and winter.

I am from the USA and grew up near Toronto which is also exciting and have spent time in Montreal and Quebec City but Vancouver would be my top pick.

Alberta is great depending on your career. Places like Calgary, Lethbridge, or Edmonton. if you are in the oil field or something of that nature Alberta is the spot. Other places that are good are Vancouver BC, Toronto ON.

Toronto is crowded and the air quality is disgusting and it's just not a very nice place to live.

Vancouver has an overpopulation of drug addicts and syringes and needles are littering the streets.

Edmonton is pretty good, but also quite large.

ok well let's just sum this up, you may want to live NEAR a big city, but in a suburb . If you're looking for many employment opportunities start out in Edmonton, Calgary etc. That is where the biggest job boom is right now.

If you can handle it and want to make a LOT of money, go up to the Northwest Territory or especially in the Yukon. they pay HUGE amounts of money because it's so cold no one wants to live there.

I live in/love Toronto.
Tons of opertunities for employment and places to live. The Transit system is absolutly amazing, you can get anywhere you would want to go. So you don't need a car or having to pay for expensive taxi rides. We have amazing attractions, including CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame and tons of pro sporting events to see, hockey, football (american), football (soccer), baseball, basketball. The people are friendly. and there are always so many people living here from other countries
