Both countries have their good and bad points, like anywhere else. Canada has a far lower population density (about one-tenth the population of the U.S. on a larger land mass), so naturally it is cleaner, has less crime, etc.

I love my country, the U.S., though I don't agree with it politically right now; but I dearly love Canada and living here.

I don;t believe either country is better than the other; just different, and you can find plenty of positive things about either.

I live in the US but I actually think Canada is better. Who can you think of that doesn't like Canada. You've never heard of any problems there.

As a citizen of both countries I feel I can offer an unbiased opinion. Canada and the US are two of the freest countries in the world except for that thin line of gustapo separating them (the border) The states/provinces are like mini countries of their own , each offering their own unique culture. You will find Canada a little more liberal - tolerant of other cultures/ideas. From my experiences I find Canadians more willing to help each other out without knowing the other person - more trusting ie; a Canadian would be more likely to stop someone from mugging you. Americans seem to have more of a shell built up around them - not so willing to crack you a smile or say hi - but when you get thru that shell you'll have a friend for life. It's easier to make $ in the US. Its safer in Can, less gun violence. The pros & cons are infinite - but really when it comes down to it we are pretty much the same people. I live in Windsor - work in Detroit - My mom is a yank - my pop a canuck.

I don't think anyone can answer that question for another person. Both countries are free (well as free as any country can be) are governed and run by elected individuals ( well OK sometimes we do not make great choices) Both countries expand from Atlantic to Pacific, have the mountains, the rivers, prairies, Gr Lakes, coast lines, and a vast traffic system for cars, boats and planes. Both countries for the most part are English speaking...now is where we may see a big difference in the two...French being the next popularly spoken language in Canada whereas in the USA it is Spanish or Mexican which is the next language spoken.
We both drive on the same side of the road, and have basically the same rules for the road.
Hmmm did I forget anything. ??

We are so great that the VAST majority of canada lives withing 120 miles of the U.S. border! Just kiddin', it's kinda depends on what person you are. I think you know what answers your goin' to get, yhou posted this on the CANADIAN forum.

Canada has WAY less problems and it's economy is in better shape. Less crime, no expensive pointless wars, not a big illegal immigration country.

But america has more diverse temperatures and is basically the cultural capital of the world. We have deserts(Arizona), arctic regions (Northern Alaska), tropical Islands (Hawaii), New york city (Don't even get me started), ghetto's (Detroit), Miami. Canada only has 2 basic temperature types;

Barely hot, in the summer, warm in the spring, and fall, and FREEZING in the winter (southern canadian cities), the rest is pretty much cold all year.

I hear they (Canada)offer free health care to their citizens which is a plus. It'd be nice if the US could do it to for those who work and can't afford it. Also, I noticed when I was up there just how clean it was. I went to a restaurant and we actually had to wait for the waitress to finish eating before she would wait on us. Then (there were 4 of us) out came our food, one meal at a time and the two men got there's before us. And it's not that we were rude or anything, we walked in with a smile and sat down as we weren't being seated either. It looked like a very Nice restaurant too, the food was OK. I'd still like to go back but maybe to a different area...Nova Scotia. Maine/USA

Both countries are great

However the U.S. is more lively (more stuff to do) and cheaper flights, you also earn more money and it is not expensive to live

Canada on the other hand has an easy-going immigration policy and free health care

Personally I prefer the U.S.

I live in Montreal, but I lived in the U.S. before

I have to say USA, just because I live here in good ol' Indiana!

Despite the fact that Mitch Daniels decided to sell our toll road, and global warming is most likely our fault, I have to stick by my country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing-- oops sorry!

The best thing About Canada would have to be the snow; I love to snowmobile!

About the global warming thing, I don't think it is real, I was just trying to get a few laughs. Hahaha, funny, right? Erm...

No question.
USA....everyone knows canada holds the scum of the earth. Alan Thicke is from there. enough said.
