FYI, Ottawa is not a French Canadian City....Ottawa is the capital of Canada and located in Ontario which is the most populous and second-largest in area of Canada's ten provinces....Montreal is the second-largest city in Canada and the largest city in the province of Quebec also the second largest French-speaking city in the world Quebec city is the capital of Quebec....all 3 cities are beautiful I would suggest you to take your time and visit each of the cities have fun |

While Ottawa is the capital of the country and is certainly bilingual, it is not really considered a French city. You can drive easily to Hull, in Quebec, from Ottawa.
It depends on what the young people are looking for and their purpose in visiting, but I think Quebec City is the best. There are many things to do in and around Quebec City. Have a look at these sites and see what you think. |

Montréal, Québec City, Trois-Rivières, Sherbrooke are all fine French Canadian cities to visit. All are located in the province of Québec and are easily accessible to each other by car. Starting from Montréal, each of the other three is about a 3-hour drive maximum. Montréal is the most cosmopolitain of the four. Québec City, the capital of Québec, has a distinctive French charm, especially the old part of town, that makes one feel in France. Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières are smaller cities that also have a strong French flavour.
Ottawa, the capital of Canada, is in Ontario and has bilingual status, but is not considered to be a French Canadian city. It is very near Hull, which is in Québec, and is about 3 hours by car from Montréal. |

For one thing Montreal is in the province of Quebec. I would recomend you visit Montreal if you would like a more of a cultural experience . There is lots to do in Owtawwa too.
Also you could consider exploring Quebec city. I think Montreal would be the best for young people . |

If you're a young person looking to party (nightlife, etc) Montreal is probably the place to go. Lots of nightlife, many young university students to hang out with, loads of fun.
If you're more interested in culture, then Quebec City is a nice place to visit. Its its 400th anniversary this year so they have a lot of activities planned, but it isn't known for its nightlife like Montreal, its a smaller city.
Like others have said, Ottawa isn't really a French city, many people speak French in Ottawa (because you have to be bilingual to work for the government), but English is really the most prevalent language. Montreal also has a large English population, although it is predominantly French. Its more multi-cultural than Quebec City. |

If you absolutely want to go to a French Canadian city there is really only one to go to and that is Quebec city. Montreal is just another city that is down on its luck and thinks its better than it really is. |

Don't go at all. The French hate English speaking people, especially Americans. |
