The biggest difference between American and Canadian cigarettes is the tobacco content.
American smokes have a blend of Virginia and Turkish tobaccos, while Canadian ones use ONLY Virginia style tobacco.
You can find Marlboros for sale in Canada, BUT you will pay a premium price for them, even higher than the all ready high Canadian prices. Some thing like 10 dollars for 20 smokes.
Remember that in Canada you can't smoke in most places indoors.

I have tried a lot of different brands of Canadian cigarettes (what can I say, I smoked as a teen, and everyone always just kind of bummed from everyone else). I have also tried Marlboro, and found that they tasted different from most Canadian cigarettes. Honestly, cigarettes are a lot more expensive in Canada, so you might just want to bring a bunch of your own. When I go down to the US, I always stock up there.
If you are going to be on an extended stay, I would suggest DuMaurier or Export A. DuMauriers probably have the closest flavour to American cigarettes, but Export A's are my favorite brand. Especially Export A gold. |
