Victoria and Vancouver are the healthiest cities in Canada and they also generally have the mildest climate. They both have access to the ocean, may parks that can be used all year round (ie, no snow) and there are mountains near by that can be skied in the winter and biked in the summer. I have lived in most regions in Canada and Victoria and/or Vancouver are the best places to live by far. If you are looking for nightlife and culture, though, Toronto and Montreal (Montreal is especially fantastic for culture) are the epicenters for Canada, but they are not great places to live if you like water sports and year round recreation. |

It depends entirely on what you are looking for. Except for Vancouver, which has slightly more mild weather, anywhere in Canada has very long, very bleak, and very cold winters. Which winter sports do you like? If you ski, best to be closer to the Rocky Mountains.
Toronto used to be wonderful, but over the past 30 years, with its horrendous population growth, it has become filthy, and you can no longer swim in Lake Ontario. It's also very, very expensive and difficult to get around. |

Victoria is likely the best - it is the most temperate city in Canada, and is known as "The Garden City."
Saskatoon is a great city of about 222,000 - in the summer. In the winter, temperatures can go below -40 (F or C, take your pick). If you're worried about climate, stay away from the prairie provinces (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba).
If you're interested in a large city (a million plus), there's Vancouver, BC, Calgary AB, Edmonton AB, Toronto, ON, and Monteal PQ. Because of the weather, Edmonton and Calgary (which is generally warmest on the prairies, but still subject to some frigid days) are probably not in your way. Vancouver on the coast is the most temperate. |

Well, if you like temperatures ranging from -40 to +40 then Calgary is the right city for you.
I wouldn't recommend Toronto or Vancouver
Saskatoon is a wonderful city located in the middle of saskatchewan. I would say Saskatoon is one of the best cities to live in, within Canada. Also,
Lethbridge, Alberta, is a wonderful city full of university students. Very healthy life style, but it does get awfully cold in the winter.
I strongly recommend you look into Saskatoon |

Don't go to Saskatoon. There is nothing there and it's really boring. Avoid Saskatchewan completely. Victoria is the most beautiful place in Canada, Vancouver is a great city, lots going on, Calgary good place and also close to Rockies, Edmonton is OK, very big with lots of businesses, stores, malls, etc. Toronto is OK. Montreal completely french. My number #1 choice for a city in Canada, is Ottawa because it is beautiful with lots to do but it is freezing their in the winter also. Actually I've just changed my mind Victoria is the No#1 city but it's expensive there. Good luck and sorry for being so confusing. lol |
