Ok VANCOUVER hands down... Toronto is a massive americanized city with possibly one of the worst climates in the country. I have lived in Vancouver for 7 years and its incomparable. As you probably know, its been dubbed the Florida of Canada, as in the winter the average temperature is about 5 degrees. It only snows about three times per year. Also the olympics are coming to BC in 2010, and the recession has not hit as hard here as it has in Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta. Also, the population of Vancouver is half of Toronto's so I am positive it a lot less hectic. Well I hope all of that helps |

I would say don't live in the city visit the city. Too much crime in the big cities. I hear toronto is very nice but extremely busy. Calgary lots of crime. Edmonton as well. All nice to visit wouldn't want to live there. Good luck in your search. |

The obviously choice is St. John's
sure you might not make the same money you would in Toronto but you don't pay for Hydro and rent and housing is much cheaper. you can buy a house for $100,000 in Vancouver that would get you a room.
Entertainment wise there is all sorts of things on the go. If you're looking for the pub scene check out George Street. Don't like one pub go next door to the next one.
There's lots of music and arts to do as well.
no smog, lower crime rates than the bigger cities, and why go to Marine land when you can go down to Cape Spear and watch whales every day in the summer for free |
