Well Alberta is a big province so where are you thinking of? Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge? Anyone of those places are a city and should have lots of work available. Vancouver is a nice climate in that it doens't get nearly as much snow, a few more activities, and closer to the US if you want to visit there. But it can be a higher cost of living in Vancouver as well.

I'm sorry but this question doesn't make sense as (Alberta is a province and Vancouver is a city in British Colombia) but I'll give you a star anyways :) lets say Edmonton instead of Alberta I would say both cities are beautiful therefore it's really hard to say either Vancouver or Edmonton is the BEST....in fact it's impossible....it's like "which fruit is the best? an apple or an orange? lets say "what is your fave fruit" an apple or an orange? this make sense right? what is your fave city? Vancouver or Edmonton? I would say Edmonton because I've been to Edmonton, Alberta 'n loved it....and your question, living expenses such as renting an apartment etc is cheaper in Alberta however varies on the location where you decide to live moreover both cities are in the different climate zones.... on and on, I would say both cities are the BEST just like the rest of the cities in Canada :) Because Canada is the Best

Everyone that answered is correct to a certain degree, I have lived in both Edmonton and Van. and loved both places for diff reasons. Hated the cold and the snow in Edm. and altho I do love the rain, I had had enough of it by the time I left Van. Edmonton is Alberta's capital city and there is always lots to do there no matter what you are into. It is really nice in the summer as there are lots of lakes etc. Also the West Edm. Mall is fantastic. There is a lot of work in either place but Edm. would be cheaper to live. Van is beautiful too as it is on any coast. Personally I would try Edm. 1st then off to Van if things weren't what I thought in Edm. Best of luck to ya

Angela, eh?
I have a friend that lives in Edmonton. Well what are you looking for?
Good Real Estate Market?
Cost of Living?
Stuff to do?
Think about it. You can't go wrong either way.
Never been to either city, but I've been to other parts of Canada.

As others have said, where in Alberta? It's a big place. I'm in the Calgary area and the traffic here, while it has it's moments is still a lot better then Vancouvers usually.

Vancouver gets less snow but a LOT more rain. Calgary gets chinooks to warm things up during the winter and gets a lot of sun.

Edmonton is much cheaper to live then either Calgary or Vancouver but they get a lot more snow, are colder and frankly I wouldn't live there. Not much to do.

Vancouver is rated the #1 best city to live in in the whole world, i have never been anywhere in Canada past Ontario and Quebec, so i personally don't know which city is better, but Vancouver is rated the best city in the world to live in.

VANCOUVER!!! u r more likely to meet someone special in vancouver. vancouver is not full of mormons, like alberta is. no offense to mormons, but if u r not of that religion, than it would definately be harder to make friends, depending on where u were staying. ALSO, there are more career advancement opportunities in vancouver. however, vancouver is more expensive, but thats because its better.

finbear
vancouver hands down. there's no comparison.
