An elephant will look the same in any country, so will a giraffe, zebra and monkeys. The CNE is something different which you won't find any place else. Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy your visit. Make sure you visit the Food building. You get lots of free samples. If you still have energy left, walk over to Ontario Place it will be worth it.

bugged to death
It really depends on what your family likes... The CNE has a lot of different stuff, plus your admission will get you into Ontario Place as well for that day. Ontario Place has a really great water park with slides.
The rides at the CNE are really old and the place has a cheap carny atmosphere. There is a lot of shopping and other attractions.
If the kids like rides I would definitely go to Canada's Wonderland instead.
However, if you are looking for more of a "chill out" day, then the zoo is the place to go. It is like a huge park, (Be prepared to do LOTS of walking), and is supposed to be world class.

depends. What do you want to see? I haven't been to the zoo in many years, but I think it is mainly animals. the CNE is alright...you have to pay to go on all the rides and they are typical fair rides. admission includes entrance to all buildings

CNE. is only on from Aug. 17 to Sept. 3 /07 [this year] . Yes like a state fair.Toronto zoo is open all year .Lots of other things to see and do. Check out www.toronto.com

Honestly. I think I would let them decide. If you go to the TTC you can buy Day Passes for about $9.00 each.

Give each teen a TTC Pass and $50.00 each. Under these strict criteria.

First they must stay together no matter what. They are young teens which should mean that you respect their growing independence. Get them a Now Magazine if they can't make up their minds. They can do what they want as a group.

Two. They must be back by 7:30pm.

A modern family usually has more than one cell phone. You can also rent cells for a day out at the Airport or you could ask the desk clerk. This way the groups can remain in contact in the case of emergency an only if there is an emergency.

So they can have their "day." And you, and yours, can have your "day".

Without ...the kids. All day. A real vacation day. In a big city. All day. ALL To YoUrSeLvEs. ALL Day.

If you know what I mean. And if you claim you don't... I'll slap you.

They will probably get more out of the CNE. You can also do the CNE and Ontario Place in one day, you just need to get a special pass that will give you full grounds admission to both. Ontario place has a water park and a number of ride in addition to the rides and attractions of the CNE. It is a great time.

CNE There R rides for all ages & lots of neat stuff to see.

the Zoo!!!! The CNE is only available the last few weeks of August and has some rides (Canada's Wonderland is WAY better for rides). The Toronto Zoo is amazing, it's huge, it's beautiful, it takes all day to walk around and enjoy. there's a people mover that will get you from one area to another if it's really hot!!!
Yeah, I'm from Toronto!
