Which part of Canda? Two questions!? |
Hey,
ok so like I totally know I've asked this question earlier.
But yeah, I'm still confused so I shall ask it again! ;D
We're planning to migrate to Canada.
The chances are very high. It really isnt important info but just an FYI.
We want to go to somewhere not so city-like.
Somewhere near beaches and stuff.
But the place has four seasons!
Summer isnt too hot and it snows in winter!
While I'm not asking too city-like but city would be ok too
just not the fast stress lifestyle,
somewhere a little chilled and maybe there's a city like 20 min away or some?
Haha ok, I know the description's a little funny but yeah.
Which part of Canada would you reccomend under all these details?
oh and the second question
Could you give me a short brief description of different parts of Canada
e.g.
Toronto - blabla bla
Ottawa- Yadah yadah
and so on!
This will seriously be so appreciated! Best answer gets 10 points ;D! Additional Details Ok fine , so not beaches.. Lakes instead! ;D thanks! and also if you guys could mention the temperature... like how hot and cold it can actually get! Thanks! |

The only one i know alot about is the one i live in, Victoria B.C ( Vancouver Island )
there is a beach, though it is almost all rocks. it's so close to the border that sometimes you cellphone will buzz and say 'welcome to America and switch to AT&T.
Victoria is a city but there are places 10 minutes away the are more calm.
In the summer it is usually in the 20's or 30's
In the winter it is from -6 to 6
and it does snow but only 1 to 3 times a year.
There are also videos on youtube of Victoira B.C if you want to see what it looks like
i think you would like it :) |

British Columbia is where it's at really.
Vancouver is a city, but it's on the coast, summers are hot, winters are warmer than most of Canada, but very rainy, and the pace of life is slower there than most major cities. If you like nature there's a ton of it a short way in every direction too.
There are many towns you can look at in British Columbia too (pop out a map and google some of them, much of your choice may end up being where you can find work, depending what you do), and wherever you go you'll find lakes and wilderness.
Forget Toronto for sure, it's the fastest city in Canada.
Stay south regardless, winters obviously tend to get harsher further north. |

try this government site for some answers and general info on Canada; http://canada.gc.ca/acanada/vwctgry.htm?lang=eng&f4nt=0
It really sounds like small town ontario (near a major city like Toronto or Ottawa) might be the place for you . for more info on those see

Mississauga is quite laid back and good for families. Pretty suburban. It's only about 20-30 minutes drive from downtown Toronto. The beaches are also close by and lakeshore is a 15 minute drive. It's a nice little town right by the water. Most immigrants move to Mississauga, Scarborough, the york areas... These are a little closer to downtown Toronto but not as new, clean and quiet as Mississauga.
You will experience all 4 seasons this side of Canada.
Toronto is fast paced and cosmopolitan. Just like Maybe New York or any other big and developed city around the world. Do keep in mind that the people who live in Toronto are a little different from the ones who live in the Suburbs. I personally prefer the city but with school age kids, the burbs are nice. Good luck! |

A good place is in the Niagara region of Canada. If you want to live in a bit of a smaller more rustic town, than Niagara-on-the-Lake is a good option. As the name says, it is right on Lake Ontario, which many people do spend time swimming in, but at times it can be a bit dirty. There is quite a few beaches, as well as a place known as Port Dalhousie (i think I spelt it wrong) where there is this beautiful old carousel that still runs for only 5 cents, its so fun to see, since it has been running for over 100 years.
NOTL is right beside St.Catharines, which is a relatively large city, and only about 1 and a half to two hours away from Toronto.
I think that the niagara region has pretty good temperatures, we have all four seasons, and can get quite the snow some winters, as well as very beautiful summers.
Personally, I think the whole niagara region is a great place to live, you can live in a smaller town, but also be quite close to some of Canada's larger towns.
And on a final note, one of NOTLs greatest pluses is the amazing downtown, it is very old fashioned styles with all the fun olden shops, and even horse and carriages that you can take a ride in. |

n my opinion i think Canada is quieter and more peaceful. if your looking for a farm life go to Saskatchewan or British Colombia. I really like Ontario. Many attraction like Niagara Falls, Canadian shield etc. Most cities are nice and quiet like St.Catharines, Hamiltion. But there are also nice city life in Ontario. Toronto and Niagara Falls are probably the best, bur Toronto isn't too safe right now with all the guns and stuff. Another nice area is Quebec. Some of the cities are big and loud but a lot are pretty peaceful. But in my opinion the best are Ontario and British Colombia. BC is nice because of all the nature spots and forests. If your a outdoorsey type, go to British Colombia. Ontario is cold in the winter like around -9 is usually average. But in the summer its pretty hot. Lake Ontario is a great spot to swim. Most of the Great Lakes are nice. So another good spot would be places close to the Great Lakes. |

there is beaches but no water that you can swim in Canada it is all too cold or two dirty, have to go to a lake for that.
Vancouver isn't a snow in the winter kind of place very often but does surround itself around water. It has lots of areas near water but very expensive, most expensive place to live as in real estate.
Toronto is very hot in summer but snows in winter an area a bit out of the city but not far is called Beaches and has water and laid back style.
Calgary is not too hot in summer and snows in winter, don't know much about beaches there but they have this big river that is near the city.
All these cities are expensive to live in but 20 minutes out lowers price a bit.
Ottawa, never been there but less expensive to live there. |
