There are labor shortages all over Alberta, but you are better off in the smaller southern cities if you want a place to live that you can somewhat afford. I recommend Lethbridge or Medicine Hat. They have a nicer climate too.

go up to the north of Alberta, like Dawson Creek. depends what kind of job bu mostly they are crying for people, as well as Fort McMurray. but good luck in finding a place to live.
