Isn't this interesting! It is amazing how many Americans think we live in igloos.

A few years ago, my step son was visiting from Montana (we are Alberta), the border is approx. a 6 hour south of us.

My step son and I were attending a local sporting event, something he had never seen before and was excited! On the bus there he started speaking to a similar aged young boy - the boy from here could only ask if my step son (from Montana) lived in an igloo! Quite entertaining the conversation was, as it appeared that the young fellow from here had the idea that US was full of igloos and dog sleds!

I know while visiting the very southern US states and having Alberta license plates on my vehicle, I was asked repeatedly there about my dog sled and igloo.

I get that question all the time. When I tell people I'm from Canada (when traveling) they ask what its like living in an igloo, and driving a dog sled. Because, when you hit the 49th parallel, it starts snowing.

stupid people think that.

mainly americans..

daphne moon
I probably thought that when I was a young child, but my father moved there and often sent photos during the summer so that igloos theory was wiped.

I live in Vancouver and we always get americans from seattle comming up...and seattles like an hour away from the border. And it's 30 degrees(celcius) there but the second they cross the border they are amazed its not snowing...its like we live in a freaking bubble or something!

A lot of the people in the U S of A are very back word . Some think that you can take a train to England.
