Who thinks we have it real good up here in Canada?

I was just reading in the Detriot section this is what one poster said to a comment about gangs:

There are gangs but it's more dudes claiming certain blocks like 7 Mile or Schoolcraft Boys and whatnot. I doubt there are any Blood or Crip chapters here. There are some Latino gangs in SW Detroit, but Brightmoor is ONE OF THE WORST PARTS OF DETROIT. I used to hang there when my friends lived there and there was a crack/prostitution house next door! I would HIGHLY advise not moving to that neighborhood. If you go into that neighborhood (if I can even call it that...looks more like a third world country) claiming blood, you could definitely lose your life.

This girl used to hang out near a prostitue/crack house? Wow, it seriously boggles my mind the difference between Canada and the U.S. sometimes. We also don't have (least not where I live) places that look like "3rd world countries".

Yikes. Crazy Americans lol. Anyone else think we got it pretty good up here?
Additional Details
Of course Americans don't think about Canada at all... they're too self-centered!
I started realizing alot of differences when I visited a friend in Ohio. We got it alot better here.

who ever said that we have snow for 8 months of the year is an idiot. even North Dakota is more north than most of sounthern Ontario...have you not looked at a map? and compared the statistics? the number of crimes committed in the USA versus Canada? We at least have a some love going on! Canada kicks ***! And we don't make assumptions about other countries/nations because we are too stupid to actually look stuff up and have to revert to fallacies because they can't actually find something wrong with us! GO CANADA!! WHOO HOO!!!

I think we have it great! For those that think the u.s health care system is better then ours should do some research. When we get sick we don't have mortgage our home to pay for our hospital stay or surgery. For the comment that Americans don't think about Canada, that is only the ignorant ones. I talk with Americans everyday at my job many are great, many are jerks, just like any group of human-beings.

scotty_k24
Heck yeah we have it good. I literally wake up some days, look outside and feel as if I've won the lottery. To be fair though, Detroit is one of the more violent US cities - and I try not to compare life here in Canada to that of the USA. If we had 130million + people living here, it would be a VERY different country.
It's just nice to live in a super friendly, and clean country - which there are definitely places in the USA that fit that criteria. In fact, I've been basically all over the eastern USA and have visited some very friendly and clean places there as well!
And yeah, Im sure if we've saw more of Canada there would be some towns we wouldnt be so proud of. Although I've not seen any in Ontario or Quebec.

The truth of the matter is, most Americans don't think about Canada at all.

The Vancouver Lower East Side..

it's one of the poorest neighbourhoods in all of Canada

it has a high level of drug use, prostitution and a super high level of HIV and AIDS.

Not everyone has it better in Canada

ur basing ur statement on one city? mebe its just detroit in that its one of THE worst cities in the US.

MasterPython
Better than most places in the world but it is not the utopia that Liberals rant about. The US has a higher murder per capita rate but every other crime rate is higher in Canada. And we hide our ghettos outside the city in the form of native reserves.

i agree with you completely. We do have it better up here. And its just not detroit thats a bad city down there .there are much more. not saying Canada is perfect we also have our downs but im sayin there are way more criminal and drug acts in the usa. i love living in canada and its been home for me my whole life!! its a great place and to many people abrod a better place then the usa.

droopydnyc
You may not have gangs, but you do have the world's fattest pigeons in Toronto.

So if the pigeons are well-fed, I'd say that speaks highly of Canada as a whole, eh?

I have been here for 23 years and for as long as I can remember I have been trying to leave.

Canada is way too liberal for me. It has Universal health care which is a joke and the less crime thing is a stretch of statistics. Yes they may have less crimes reported but when the population is less then they better have less crimes. What you need to research for actual facts would b crimes per capita. Also Detroit is a very bad city. Canada has some very beautiful areas and great people but so does the U.S. of A. and I would never give it up for any other country.

NONAME
no, we think you live in the snow for 8 months of the year, and your all too liberal.
