Why Will Canadians Never Admit That Americans Are Paying To Defend Canada?

Why are Americans and the US paying to defend Canada?

How about you Canadians take care of yourselves for a change. I mean if you are not going to be an independent country, either depending on the UK or the US then you might as well be the 51st state.

Newsflash my friend.
You won't find a single instance of America actually defending Canada against attack. Not one. Not during any major conflict or even a minor one. Not one American in the air about to shoot something down or ship interdicting a vessel. On the other hand, let's go back to 7 years ago, to this very day. Our fighters were scrambled, without being asked by your government, to help defend your borders. Not our border...yours. How many planes carrying American passengers were in the air that day, mid Atlantic, that weren't permitted to land in the USA? Where did they land? Who took them in, sheltered and fed them? I suppose we could have just shut our air space down too and told them to fend for themselves like Bush did to his own citizens.
Regarding Britain. The last time we relied on Britain for defence was during the war of 1812....against, oddly enough...the USA. We weren't even a country then so essentially it was the UK vs. USA.
Read up a little on history before making such outlandish claims. You can't even defend yourselves let alone both countries.

*ajidamoon* the Eh team
So, um, my question to you would be.....who are the americans defending us from?? We aren't the ones with the line up of enemies. In fact there are many countries out there that would come to our defense, long before they would that of the US. Read some information that was not written in the US before you go off half cocked, making up baseless facts to support your lame attempt at an insult on the internet. Or perhaps your parents don't even know you are up past your bedtime, and using the computer all by yourself.

Canada doesn't depend on either the US or the UK. Canada trades a lot with the US. You Americans depend on us just as much as we depend on you, if not more. We have the natural resources that you need. Our government is working one severing ties with the American government so that we won't be dragged down into the economic grave you are in.

We're not defending Canada, hahaha! We're defending ourselves, any defense of them is merely incidental to our own. We need them badly, more than they need us! We're lousy neighbors anyway, like the ones who throw our trash in the neighbors yard. What the heck did Canadians ever do to you anyway? If McCain wins, I'm moving there, lol.

Canuckie
If you're paying to defend us...can we get a refund??

and who does US defend us from... come on... exactly who??? Russia? China? Hey guess what neither of those countries has ever tried to invade Canada!! Guess who has tho.. the only one who has.. USA!! So your supposition is pretty stupid that our biggest threat (USA) is actually our defender. Is that American logic? Do we hate you because of your freedoms? No we hate you cause your so full of yourself.
BTW; why did the USA allow UK and Canada and everyone else fight Hitler for 2 1/2 years before joining in? Could it be they couldnt give a flying s&*( about anyone else until the Japanese dragged them in by bombing pearl harbour? Otherwise you'd be happy to sell Hitler eveything he needed .... sound familiar.

You guys kill me... I bet you think you womn WWI and WWII all on your own too eh?

Dont ever try and tell me Canada is or needs protection from the US/ what a joke!!

Paying with what? Wooden nickles? I thought the USA was bankrupt from the sub-prime mortgage scandal, credit crunch and the bogus war in Iraq.

Canadian
And just when have you EVER defended us, and who from?

(thump thump - beating my head against a wall)

Canada and the US are allies. Canada and Great Britain are not just allies - the Queen of England is also our monarch.

Canadians are on the ground in Afghanistan right now because of what happened to the US on Sept 11/01.

Canadians were involved in key battles in WWII that benefited the US as well.

The US has taken on the leadership role in the free world...so they carry the heaviest loads, but to say Canadians to not pull their weight on the world front is ludicrous. You are clearly vastly under-informed on the subject, and really need to do research that involves something other than talking to other people who agree only with you.

Didn't anyone tell you that it is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt? They should have because you just removed any doubt any of us had. :o)

Why are Canadian troops being killed in Iraq AND Afghanistan?

Canada has little reason to need to defend anything. Perhaps it should limit the number of overeducated Asians it's letting in but that's another issue. Canadians don't wake up every day and say Gee I wish our army was bigger so we could feel safer, although there are troops in Afghanistan, I think. Canada right now is attempting to diversify the economy, moving away from natural resources, the environment, diplomacy, etc.. Trade is an important part of Canada esp with The States. How big is Switzerland's army? The whole history of Canada is such that it is not fighting - we're arguably not completely sovereign, in the Commonwealth and so on. I'm not sure the asker of this question knows what goes on in Canada exactly.

This is nit the first time this question has been asked in the past couple weeks. I answered it myself a couple weeks ago. The answer is still the same. Canadians are quite willing to admit that Uncle sugar carries the lions share of the cost.

But mainly because the US has much more expensive weapons that they don't let anyone else have.
Besides, the US military is so heavily armed it is no big deal for them to cover their friendly next door neighbor as it requires no additional spending anyway.

And besides the US does it to protect its biggest source of foreign ol. Yes folks, Canada is the place most of your imported oil comes from, not the middle east. So if you want Canada to be invaded and lose half your imported oil supply, you go right ahead and refuse to help defend Canada.

Canada's feeling is "defend against who"? The only country that could invade Canada is the US anyway.

I have no problem being apart of America. We all know Canada is nothing without America. Canada strives on being like America, but they will never admit it. Their a bunch of hypocrites
