Canada has been a immigrant destination for more than 300 years.
Canada has a much more selective Immigration application process now. We don't want unskilled labourers, we are looking for educated people who will be able to integrate quickly into our society. The process is not like the one in use in the USA, which is basically a lottery, where you take a chance on being selected, or not.
The Canadian Immigration process is based on a points score for the individual applicant, based on their education, work history, age, health and language skills. The higher their score the better chance they have of being accepted to come to Canada.
Canada accepts about 250,000 immigrants per year, and a further 30,000 UN charter refugees. At this time there are more than 900,000 applications in process.

because the US economy is taking a down fall, because of the war, and gas prices, and the extremely high prices of everything else in our economy, and Canada has more attractions, and a way better economy pluse canadians are way better people. |

Because people have realised that Canadians are better/smarter/etc than the US. It also has that up and coming scene (not many people went there for years - now its seen as the place to be)... |

Because there are jobs and because it is relatively easy to immigrate to Canada. |

Overall Canada has a better system.. In everything. From health Care (universal) to attractions.. Plus Canadians always seem to be happy, so there is something to it living there. My husband I are considering moving there, we have heard wonderful things and we are only 3 1/2 hours away from the border.. I am just looking into though I am not sure how much money and times its going to take for that to happen.. But Canadian's are brought up in such a different way than here in a American.. With education and everything.. So be grateful that Canada is as wonderful as it is.. |

I think they are going there for work. Immigrants go where the work is. I've even heard that many Hispanics/Latinos, are headed north too, and the construction season there is only 6 months out of the year. So the other 6 months can be spent in their home countries. |
