Why aren't Canada's highways built from cobblestone bricks instead of asphaltic concrete?

If say Canadian Highway 1 (Transcanada Highway), Highway 2, and Highway 3 were built of stone bricks laid down over where cars go over, then Americans would know if they accidentally crossed the border from USA to Canada by mistake.

PLUS American tourists would be able to say "Brick roads....oh cool...this must be Canada. Also Highway 1 could be made from Purple Bricks, Highway 2, of painted Green Bricks, Highway 3 can use Red Bricks, 401 of Yellow Bricks.

And then Americans who want to see the Prime Minister of Canada could follow the Yellow Bricks.

Canada would be so unique if they did this. Why doesn't Canada reconstruct all its roads into bricks?

I mean look how disgusting current road stuff is made from in North America, look at the wikipedia picture. Isn't it disgusting having THOUSANDS of kilometers of this crap? everywhere????? It's like something out Satan the devil, like evil ooze or whatever.
