Why can't more Canadians move to Manitoba?

The way I see it is Alberta is like the Conservative Pro-Harper Texas of Canada where taxes are low because there's no vision of an ideal society, it's the most corporate-friendly province that attracts American tourists because of the picture perfect Rocky Mountains."
Alberta is basically a hot slutty model girl who has no vision of everlasting love and yet gets preferred by outsiders as #1 girl who tourists and hug and all that, haha you gotta LOVE that analogy!!!!." Her name is Alberta.

Manitoba is the obscure girl who doesn't create the erotica of Alberta girl, unless you are the right guy (traveler). She has a face that distinguishes her from any other girl (from the size of the nose, ears, lip size), she has a very unique physique that you can treasure more than anything if you understand how her aura is built around her character. And she has a heart of gold and will do anything to make the world better, even go through 1950s floods, 1919 strikes, she donates blood as she is "O-" blood type and her philanthropic blood streams down like the 1885 Red River. And she will not faulter in the toughest of times. She is very misunderstood unless you truly learn to appreciate her. Her name is Manitoba.

And Ontario? It's like 100% Men, figuratively speaking, too tough and overpopulated. (at least the Torontonian parts) making it woman-less unless you head for the Prairies.

So why not give Manitoba a chance?

And as for the Maritimes, we'll leave that for another post. There's more provinces than types of girls out there so...hehe

I have visited all provinces of Canada and I lived in 3 of them (Alberta, Ontario, Québec) and I am very sorry to tell you I would never move to Manitoba or to Alberta again!

Winnipeg is beautiful in the summer but dead in the winter....and sadly summer last like 2 weeks up there. I don't mind small cities, but I would pick P.E.I. over Winnipeg any day.

Have you ever actually been to any of these places? I bet you've been to Toronto, or Niagra Falls, once, and now you think you know all about Canada, sigh.... there are a lot of good people in Alberta, even if it is a bit beef and oil obsessed. Outside the tourist trap areas, the people and culture of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are very similar. The reason why we don't all move to Winnipeg is because it would leave the rest of Canada depopulated.

Why do you think all Manitobans have type O blood or that they supported the 1885 rebellion? I guess that is a reference to Metis heritage. You are confused. The rebellion of 1885 was against having Metis land given away to the flood of new immigrants to the prarries, including Manitoba. The majority of people there now are from that "flood" and are not Metis, and did not support that rebellion but in a sense caused it, although it was really caused by racist government policy of the time. However there are still lots of Metis people in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, AND ALBERTA, as well as British Columbia and in lesser numbers, the rest of Canada.

And by the way the battle actually took place in Saskatchewan, or what is Saskatchewan now, although it's worth noting that Manitoba as a province was founded by Louis Riel.

I am Metis, so I know what I am talking about.

Edit: and on second thought I didn't mean to refer to places like Banff Alberta as tourist traps. People from all over the world go to the Rockies because it's so incredibly beautiful, not because Albertan women are whores or whatever you're trying to say.

Manitoba is the only place in Canada where you have to go to Saskatchewan for some excitement. - Or Alberta if you want to watch an NHL hockey game. Or Alberta if you want to watch a good football game. Or Alberta if you want to listen to a philharmonic orchestra. Or Alberta for the biggest shopping mall in North America.....or ......Alberta to visit home of the Prime Minister of Canada.....or...

I don't understand why you claim to be extolling the virtues of Manitoba but your first paragraph does nothing but slag Alberta.
I've lived in Quebec, Ontario (Toronto) and now Alberta and I've visited every province except Newfoundland. And I can tell you without any hesitation, my first choice to live in the future is Alberta, second is BC, third is Nova Scotia, fourth is Quebec.
Just because you've had a bad experience in Alberta or you're happy in Manitoba doesn't mean the rest of us are miserable.
Otherwise, I commend you on your effort ( the longest "question" I have ever seen on this site) and would award you at least 100 points for it.

Eric :

Im starting to have serious concerns about your mental health.

You seem to be obsessed with the whole Canada thing. Could you take a week off, and go see a Doctor about your mania ?

Actually, I have looked into properties in Northern Manitoba. Growing up in a bustling tourist city, Niagara Falls, has left me jaded, and I like my solitude now. When the youngest of my children turn 18, hubby and I will be heading up/out there to do nothing but enjoy nature.

I've never heard my province described in such a way...kind of unnerving.

And it's Folklorama, not Folklaroma.

Thanks for the love...
