Canadians don't really know anything about Americans either. It's not right to accuse someone of something when the accusation is coming from a hypocrite. |

Dont assume that all Americans don't know anything about Canada. Some of us actually know some things about Canada. You're acting as if we know NOTHING about Canada. You're offending some of the people who do. How would you know that ALL Americans don't know anything about Canada? I know that some don't but just don't assume that all Americans know nothing about Canada. |

whats to gain if we knew everything about canada?....nothing thats your answer |

Canada is about 3.8 million SQ Miles of land that will be part of the USA in the next 25 to 50 years. When (not IF) Quebec succeeds from Canada (and the French areas become the country of Quebec), the Atlantic providences will become Canada and the remaining lands will join the USA.
That is if the US does not simply march north and take everthing before then.... |

You tend to learn (YOUR OWN) country's history. Not the history of other's. This is why Canadians probably don't learn the history of China and it's emperors in school. This is common sence. Any knowledge of other countries and their history (with the exception of Bits and piefces of English history where America applies) are learned by choice in college. Where courses are offered on other countries and their history. |

What do you mean, don't know anything about Canada? I know it exists. I've been to it. I know it's several islands surrounded by a lot of water. I know it was once owned by England. The queen is on their coins. I know their coins are useless in the US. I know it's a beautiful country, that it has a whale killing and baby seal killing problem. I know it's across the sea, from Anacortes, Washington. I know it's above Washington state, on most maps. What more do you want me to tell you? Oh, by the way, I'm an American. |

I know a lot about Canada. I have been all over Canada from East to West coast and stayed nights in Niagara Falls, Toronto, Vancouver, Jasper, and Lake Louise. In a few months I go to Nova Scotia and Newfundland. |

Americans know more about Canada than any other country on earth. Before Canadians get too uppity about America's seemingly disinterest in their country answer a quick question from me. How many countries border Canada? Whats the capital of Greenland? Where is Hans Island? What province runs a ferry to a French island? My point is we know a lot more about Canada than Canada knows about Greenland or the French island St. Pierre and Miquelon , 2 of your 3 neighbo(u)rs |

Most Americans don't know very much about America! American history/geography is not a huge priority like it used to be. If we don't even know about our own country how can we know about others. Some people know a lot about this country and Canada. I personally LOVE Canada and have been there several times. Victoria Island (above Washington state) is beautiful, I got to tour the Provincial Parliament Building, that was cool. Ontario is really cool, beautiful country, lots of water, VERY friendly people. Prince Edward Island is my favorite spot in Canada. It is really quaint and very beautiful. One thing I have found on my trips to Canada was that the Canadians didn't know that much about the USA!! I think you have to spend time somewhere in order to know about it! I highly recommend seeing/visiting Canada as well as different states in the USA!!! |
