Why do I need a license to buy guns in Canada? |
This doesn't make any sense!
I'm an American in Vancouver. No offense to you Canadians, but why do I need a license to purchase a gun in this country? Sorry, but I'm American. I have the right to bear arms without being licensed. Why should I follow the rules of Canada when I'm American? I'm a citizen of a superpower and I don't HAVE to follow the rules and regulations of Canada. The Canadian government should look into this so they can start serving customers from the US. |

It's called Jurisdiction. Canada only lets foreigners into the country if they agree to abide by Canadian Laws. You are only allowed into the country by agreeing to follow our gun laws. That means no riffle without a license. If you must have one, feel free to head back to your superpower and buy one. Just don't come into Canada with it.
We Canadians are pretty smart. If we don't allow each other to just go buy guns that easy, why would we let citizens from the country that kill the most people using guns year after year? |

OK, first of all, you need a permit to carry a weapon in the US. Secondly, any citizen in another country must follow the laws of that country. You can not buy a weapon in Canada because Canadian law states that no person can buy a weapon without a permit. Just because you are a citizen of a large country does not mean you can insist that you have immunity from the laws of the country that you are a guest in. |

You are a guest in a Foreign Country - if you do not like the Laws - go Home - no one is going to miss you - super or not. |

When in Rome do as the Romans do you sound like one of those Americans that those who really live there cant stand. A super power of any merit would not claim such an insigniicant myoptic nobody as you. |

why not go back to the USA and play with your guns we are a peace full nation and that's why you need a licence. in the us you may have the right to bear arms so every one has a gun and look at how many gun related deaths there are every day. you are in Canada now and who cares if the USA thinks they are a super power when in this country you must obey the laws of this country and why should we change them just for you. now a story. i live a stones throw from the America border and was going to do some cross border shopping while standing in customs { because i walked over} 2 moose hunters where being arrested they were trying to cross with high powered automatic rifles and 4 9mm automatic hand guns. there excuse the were going hunting in northern Ontario. this happens at least twice a week up here. we dint need guns in Canada |

Because you do.
No you do not, not in Canada.
Becasue those are the rules and it is a Canadian Game.
Oh yes you do.
They already do by allowing them to hunt and fish, vacation and buy property in Canada.
Not to mention sharing the flu vaccine, prescription drugs and BC Bud. |

I suspect this is a troll, but --
FIREARM INFORMATION:
Non-Resident hunters entering Canada with firearms are required to complete a
Non-Resident Firearm Declaration Form at the point of entry into Canada and pay a Customs Canada Firearm Entrance Fee of $50 Canadian.
This form can be downloaded from the link below www.cfc-ccaf.gc.ca and/or your
booking package will contain the declaration form. It is recommended that the hunter complete the form - BUT DO NOT SIGN IT - as signing must be done in the presence of a custom agent at the point of entry into Canada.
An approved Temporary Borrowing Licence at a cost of $30 Canadian is required
for anyone borrowing a firearm for use in Canada (unless the lending individual is in direct and immediate contact for supervision).
Canadian Firearms License or the approved Non-Resident Firearm Declaration
Form will be required to be presented in order to purchase ammunition in Canada.

Yeah, sounds like a _huge_ hassle.
"I'm a citizen of a superpower and I don't HAVE to follow the rules and regulations of Canada" -- okay. Follow your own. No weed for you!
Finally, why not just set up a trap line? |

Sorry about that, but you have to follow the rules of the country you are in, not the country you are from. When you are in France, you follow their rules. When you are in Germany, you follow their rules. You think you are a citizen of a superpower and don't have to follow the rules of Canada? Guess again. And while you're pondering that, make sure you apply for a license before you buy a gun in Canada AND learn the rules for carrying a gun. They are very precise. |

So, if Latveria doesn't have a law against murder, can a Latverian come to America, ignore our laws concerning murder, and expect to walk away, scot free? |
