You're the retarded one. Of course us Americans know where Canada is-if we don't it's because it isn't interesting and nothing happens down there in this " Canada " you speak of.

why do most Canadians assume that ALL Americans are the same as the stereotype they've been given? Now let's be honest, stereotypes exist because theirs some truth to them. But they become stereotypes when we, as Canadians, start painting with a very broad stroke. I mean it doesn't help when you have Rick Mercer's "Talking to Americans" (which was hilarious btw). Right now it's a battle of the stereotypes, we're "hicks" and they're "ignorant". The bottom line is that we're all ignorant for even taking part in this argument....myself included.

It's really amusing actually; if you're a Canadian that believes this stereotype, you're actually becoming as ignorant as you believe Americans to be.

forgot to add....to answer your question on the ones that truly don't where it is. My guess, they're not very well educated and don't have any motivation to learn anything that is outside of their bubble....but you can find people like that in every country.

I don't know any Americans that do not know where Canada is. Besides, how would you know what MOST Americans know and don't know?

I just asked my 5 year old grandson "where is Canada?" He said "up north of us Grandma." We are in Wisconsin. Nuf said.

actually, a recent Canadian report I read shows that most Canadians don't know the answers used to prove "dumb Americans" at roughly the same rate.

There are lots of dumb Yanks, and they can be very embarrassing. But there are also Canadians who think Canada is twice as large as the US in landmass, believe it or not.

Why? Because we dont see or hear anything about Canada on TV, radio or print.

I bet most of us couldnt pick our North Dakota on a blank US map.

because they learn a lot about themselves in school growing up.. i would say most americans do no where canada is just not even what the provinces are.. some americans don't know what provinces are they think we have states.. once when i was down in the states we told somebody we ride dog sleds and moose to work and in the summer if you are not careful the mosquitoes will pick your small child up and fly away with it so sometimes you have to have your child on a leash.. and also that we live in igloos with no electricity and all the people bought it.. seriously.. they were like "omg are you serious!" i could not believe it.. it was hilarious..
