The thing is that perople come in packs, people are scared of showing their real feelings, because if they do they will be excluded from the pack. Society has made men and women wondering "could I do better"
but in the end your significant other could be way better looking than you or way less attractive than you ever imagined. The population of vain people is growing daily. Looks do attract but they won't keep your partner. Quality, trust, mutual interest and security are what keep people together. So yes if you are still hung up on being the ugly duckling waiting for that prize winning duck to warm up to you maybe you are the vain one. Maybe you should start warming up someone without so much attention given in their direction. When the "girl" you deserve and respect enters your life you'll know it because you won't care if she has a big nose or a little too chubby for your liking.
Her personality will charm you and nothing anyone could say can change your opinion.
