You have probably gone to Quebec. The people there are just mad because they lost the Second World War.

As a whole, I would categorize Canadians as very polite, understanding and an accepting group of people. I would not consider Canadians rude at all. Maybe you simply met somebody who was rude, and you have now made the assumption that all Canadians as a whole are rude. One cannot make a decision about an entire group of people, by meeting only a few people from that group.

Simply out of curiosity, how did you come to this conclusion?

As a Canadian, I don't mind your comment, I would just like to hear an explanation for your reasoning.

:)

well... you think people arent rude in the United States?! come on! USA has prob the most rude people cuz we speak our darn minds so much. People are rude everywhere. if your not from canada, your prob just not used to it and expected something different. truth is--rude people are everywhere. just greet them w/ a smile :)

Maybe you bring it out in people. I've read numerous of your q&a and you come across as really rude and obnoxious. Maybe people can't help responding to you that way.

Becuase we don't like you.

Presumably this is intended to offend Canadians and lead to the sort of rudeness you mention?

I think your question is a little uncivil.

Au contraire, mon frere. We Americans are far ruder. Canadians tend to be as polite as we were fifty years ago. But if you come on strong, they would not be too reticent to reciprocate.

Lilly, Princess Of Heaven
how do u know they arent nice. I wonder what you might said about the Brits and Italians

It's too cold to be nice! I just try to get where I'm going without freezing to death.

You must of been in Quebec. The rest of Canada is not rude.

it's just a reaction to americans being hateful to Canada and Canadians, we just can't be bothered even trying to talk to them anymore..we tried to be their friends but they don't want any friends..so screw 'em
