Why is it that Americans think that Canada is so cold?

Canada is "cold" the same amount of time as New York and the upper states. All the Americans that I see posting claim that it is cold everywhere when really, its not. Why is it that they think that?

they're ignorant and plain dumb, but who cares what they think, they're just mindless faceless consumers of everything we make....

I think that it really depends on where you go in Canada. I am in Saskatchewan, and it's still really cold here. I'm assuming that if an American came up here to visit right now, they might get that impression. Plus, we don't help by complaining about it all the time :)

Are you trying to tell me that there ISN'T an invisible wall along the border that keeps all the cold air in Canada?

Hmph

lack of interest combined with iffy geography lessons.........

I think it happens when they don't know we use a different temperature system than they do, i.e. celsius vs. fahrenheit. So they see that it's 60 degrees where they are but only 15 in Canada and don't realize it's the same.

I'm not trying to offend Americans, but it seems they are uninformed about what goes on in our country. It's not really their fault, they just don't hear about Canada as much in the news as we hear about them. And we somewhat learn about American heritage/ history/ economy in school. I've had people ask if we drive dog sleds and live in igloos... And they were serios! They honestly think we live in the artic, yet we just live across the border from them. Anyways, Canada rocks and that's all that matters :)

Dead Day Afternoon
They don't care what happens outside their own border.
If they only knew we are the best, wait prolly not a good idea, they might invade us. ixnay on the weatheray report.
