Why move to Canada?

A lot of people seem to be wild for moving to Canada. What's so great about it? I know nothing of Canada, so fill me in on why it's such a great place to live, please.
Additional Details
p.s. I'm pretty liberal and not a huge Bush fan. We're thinking of relocating and I guess I just wanted to know if I should consider Canada as somewhere to look. Any places you like best? Anything other than health care and beer? Housing? Politics? Bueller?

You would be wise to move to Canada, it has loads to offer.
I have lived in the UK for 13 yrs and am desperate to get back home.
There is so much you can do with your family in Canada, that wont cost you anything. The children are much safer, they have more freedom, the schools are good, the Uni's are good. Property and land is cheap. Some places are more than others but you just need to look and do some research.
I would go back in a heart beat-
If you like skiing ( down hill or x country) you will enjoy, summer times offer lakes ( clean) to swim in, fishing, hunting, the beer is cold, food is great.
The yahoo's who slate Canada are probably sad Americans who are mad cause our dollar is par! haha oh and our beer is better

it is virgin country thy respect others beautiful sceens kind peoples if you work hard you can gain sucsess easily

perhaps its the scenery, the health care, the fact that our dollar is now worth more then the greenback, the unemployment rate is much lower, the gov' isn't nearly as corrupt or nosy or butting into other countries business. Most of all its being a nutral country in the midst of a world war on terrorism... you dont normally hear of the same type of terrorism in Canada, its not frequently targeted by these dillhole extremists. The education systems, enviromental laws, housing markets, no tornado alley's or hurricanes or volcano's erupting.. there are many reasons, put it simply its a matter of choice/opinion, you will find canadians are bias'd towards canada :)

Well many people from poorer countries want to move here because we have a standard of living that rivals the USA, but are a more peaceful nation than the US has been in recent years.

Americans are moving here to get away from the Bush regime, which is probably the reason that there are so many American illegal immigrants here now.

SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!!! Low crime rate (probably due in part to the socialized medicine and not having to worry so much!) Money goes farther there. Nice weather except in the winter. Beautiful country. People respect where they live instead of throwing their trash everywhere.

Wow, really... lots of people are wild about moving here? Well, we do have Survivor man here, his son is on my son's hockey team... We get lots of snow (if you like winter sports, come on up), we have a very low population density (lots of space and fewer people trying to live on it), we have similar stuff to the US, but on a smaller scale. We have french as a second language (mais oui!) and we have loads of natural resources. Our governments like to tax the he-- out of us but we do get 'free' health care for all. We're very polite for the most part, and we're known for our peace-keeping. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else, but then I was born here.

they have mounties.. nuff said!

Yay! I love Canada. But I'm biased..I'm Canadian lol

Well right now, I know thousands of people are going to Alberta because there is a MASSIVE demand for employees in all sorts of jobs. Perhaps because of our health care? We are a mosaic, not a melting pot so we are very multicultural and accepting of all peoples. We don't force people to take on a Canadian identity. Low crime rate, good global image in that many people like Canada. We kind of just mind our own bussiness.

In terms of politics we are a very liberal country, even our conservatives are liberal by American standards.

I'm not sure, I've never lived outside of Canada so I do not know anything else to make a comparison. I'm sorry I could not be of more help.

PS. College and Universiy is NOT free here.

Well for starters, they dont have George Bush as a president. If you dont realize the many ways that political policy affects your life, that may not seem like a big deal. But it is.

Canada is a great place to live. it is so diverse (though most people are Asian (as in Chinese), which is no surprise) and there is so much to see and do (e.g., Canada's Wonderland (amusment park), whale watching, etc.). and the people are really nice too (excpet for some people who are raceist or are just plain mean). but Canada is like every country: it has it's pros and cons, but is still a great place to live!

E5'sWife
I don't see anything so great about it. I've been there, it's nice, but the U.S is soo much better!

jibbarjabar
Nobody really cares much about such an economically bankrupt, militarily insignificant, politically unimportant, and culturally devoid country such as Canada! Eh?

i pack a 44
very low income tax.....free health care.....free college education....

NOTHING IS GOOD ABOUT CANADA!
