Why no PEI or NB section here?

Seriously? Every province is represented by at least one city, sometimes more. Why have New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island been ignored? They are great provinces to visit!

Not to mention the territories, nothing about those three either.

I'm probably just opening the door to stupid insults from people who have nothing else to do, but I thought it might be worth finding out if others have noticed and think it's unfair to those provinces.

True, I'd missed Saskatchewan as well. Seems like Canada just got smaller, based on this forum!

It's not that I disagree with you, but I am offering up some explanations on what Yahoo seems to have done. I did notice PEI was a major destination and was missing from Travel. However I am from the west coast and also noticed Jasper, Tofino, Banff, Whistler, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Red Deer, Whitehorse, and Dawson City are also missing.

Dinning Out, Local Business and Travel all have subcategories of Countries and Cities. So it isn't just in Travel. A quick glance I believe the subcategories are all the same, the same cities listed in each. Probably easier and better that they use the same city listings. Thus while PEI is a good travel topic, it would generate less discussion than Windsor in Local Business. Most major cities seem to be listed, based on population. The listed Canadian Cities represents over half of Canada's population. As mentioned, that is probably better than other country listings. Australia and New Zealand are listed together, UK is listed as one, etc.

Mostly it looks like you have to be THIS BIG to be listed, and This Big under the Canadian listing is 250,000 people. Not even the total population of the provinces of PEI, New Brunswick or Saskatchewan meet that. If anything they left out a bunch of Major Ontario cities. AND I don't know how Niagara Fall's pulls so much weight.

From the be careful what you wish for side, the last question I answered under Travel, Canada, Victoria - population 300,000, provincial Capital and major tourist attraction -------- "Why are there no posts in here?" The main question asked about any Canadian city "Do I need a passport?"

Yes, the Maritimes and the Northern Territories should be represented on Yahoo! Canada. No excuse for those omissions. You're right PEI and New Brunswick are amazing provinces! I've been to both and want to go back soon! I LOVE PEI!

Maybe someone out there doesn't think that people want to talk about PEI or NB or travelling to either province? Which would be silly, cuz both of them are on my list.

Cause each of those provinces as a whole has a smaller population than any of the represented cities. This is not meant as a 'put down', just a general observation.

redfox
LOL. I asked a very similar question about Saskatchewan. It's not represented either. I guess the places that were left out were deemed "minor" by whoever created the Canadian section of answers, and that no one would ever use them, so why have them? I thought it was mildly insulting, but really- what do i care?In the end, i know my province exists.

perhaps they are too small.

You are still running a better percentage than the states ... check how many cities are represented there!
