Wich city in Ontario is the closest to Quebec(State)?

Is there any city town or community (in ontario) that is very very near to the frontier of ontario with quebec?

Well, there's Sudbury and Timmins (where Shania Twain is from), Ontario which are relatively close to Quebec. The capital of Canada - Ottawa - is right next to Montreal, Quebec.

And BTW - the "states" in Canada are called "provinces"

Ottawa, the Canadian capital, is adjacent to the border of Quebec (not called a state, but a province). The metropolitan area is called Ottawa-Gatineau. Gatineau is on the Quebec side.

On the south end, (Highway 401 - 20) Cornwall is the closest city or big town. Lancaster is closer, but it is very small.

As you can see from a map, though, Quebec and Ontario have a very long shared border. Ottawa is right on one side of the border, and Hull-Gatineau is a city on the Quebec side - they are joined by bridges.

Oh, and we don't say "state" in Canada. Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories. Quebec and Ontario are provinces.

Quebec is not a State. It's a province. I'm sure that there are quite a few cities or towns that are on or right near the Ontario/Quebec border. Look on a map :)

Lets not count out the many smaller communities along the Ontario/Quebec border. Such as New Liskeard, Ontario/Notre Dame du Nord, Quebec. Virginia Town/Kearns, Ontario/Cheminis, Quebec. Black River Matheson, Ontatio/Rapide Dansuer, Quebec. Goodwin, Ontario/St. Lambert, Quebec. Thorne, Ontario/Temiskaming, Quebec. Much of the Quebec and Ontario border are separated by the Ottawa River, other wise there would be a great many more border towns.

I would not say Timmins or Sudbury are anywhere close to Quebec. A good few hours drive each is not what I would consider close.

.
Two that readily come to mind because all you need to do is cross a bridge to get into Quebec from Ontario are Ottawa and Hawkesbury.
