All of North America (Canada AND the U.S.) is DVD Region 1 - so, unless somebody in Canada is selling DVDs imported from overseas, you WILL be able to play them. |

Yes, both Canada and the US use the same encoding system for DVD's. If you were to buy one from Europe, Australia, or New Zealand as well as a number of other countries it would not work as they use a different system there. |
