We have central heating so time indoors will be fine. Our cars have heat, so time spent in a car will be fine. If your clothes are not warm enough, we have stores that will be thrilled to teach you all you ever wanted to know about dressing for Canadian winters but were afraid to ask so - you'll be fine. No matter how you look at it, you will be fine! Oh yeah The Metro is underground and heated and goes all over the place. I am sure there are people in Montreal who never set a foot outdoors since the Metro was built. :o) Have fun in La Belle Province et la Grande Ville - Montreal.

right now, in montreal, tomorrow it's supposed to be 16C, and 13C for the thurs, and fri. it will probably stay around the 10C mark for a bit more.

if you're coming during winter, then it will be cold obviously, and you will need a winter coat at least.

EDIT-- "truckers daughter" is wrong. it almost never gets that cold in Montreal. the temperature in the -20's is considered very cold, it rarely passes/gets into the -30's (even with windchill)

ps-- im not sure if the term is used in Australia, or if you know what it means, but windchill pretty much means, the temperature it "feels like" due to the wind. (thermometres don't read windchills, this is why you'll often here a temperature, then the windchill temperature when watching the weather)

Some Canadian Dude
course you''ll survive. There are more than 30 million of us up here.
I moved to canada(calgary) from florida about 5 years ago.
I had such thoughts then too but it's not as bad as they say and your body adjusts.
btw;During the summer it can also be brutally hot!

edit-yeah.............
truckers daughter is a moron DO NOT listen to her.
In the dead of winter it does not usually even go below 30 celcius(forget farenheit yo) and our summers are up to like 25-30 celcius(75-90 farenheit )

okay well this week is going to be warm.
so today was about 20 degrees celcius. tomorrows going to be about 17 degress celcius, and it is going to lower about a degree or two.
but next week, and probably for a while
its going to be around 7 degrees celcius, maybe a bit higher, maybe a bit lower.

i love you.

giggity giggity

dont worry you will adjust! You might have to get some warmer clothes but you will be fine. :D Good Luck!

itssoeasy
we use celcius here.
if you have uggs they will keep your feet warm.

truckers_daughter
well, it is VERY cold in canada. I live in MI, and it freezes here. In the dead of winter, probably about -30 degrees F with a windchill making it about -45 at the most. Make sure you buy thermal underwear, also known as long johns. Keeps you nice and toasty. Don't worry, you will be absolutely fine.

Also, if that's not enough info for you, try going into Montreal's previous winter weather. Maybe www.weather.com or something.
