Will I have problems at the border?

I live in Canada and am planning to go Shopping in Michigan in the middle of October. My passport still has my maiden name on it. (I have been married for two years, but haven't changed it because it cost $100). My SIN still has my maiden name and all my other ID has my married name. So I have more than one piece of ID with a photo for both names. Do you think I am going to have a problem at the border?
Additional Details
Its not that I don't have the money to change it. I haven't used it and didn't think of it until last night, I am going next week and thus do not have time to change it. I'm going Christmas shopping for other people...not just romping across the border to spend money on myself. Just to let those of you who feel the need to judge my priorities with no knowledge of the situation

Actually I'm an American and your story makes clear sense to me. Your reason for shopping cross-border is the prices are cheaper on the American side of the border. That's all you need to say.

You didn't want to waste 100 dollars for the same reason you don't want to spend more than you have to on Christmas gifts.

The USA customs will not give you a hard time with a maiden name changed. If you have the paperwork to back it up, you are fine. Just be calm and present the paperwork.

edit: I disagree with snowpatrol even if it were more expensive to crossborder shop than $100. In any free market system, individuals have their own preferences of value based on what each person values as important to him/her.
(Something may be in your price range but you do not value the buying decision so you don't make a purchase, there's nothing wrong with that.

This person under the impression the name change was of no consquence, did not value the decision to pay $100, but not having Christmas gifts obviously you can all relate to consequences there, especially if other family members did their shopping for YOU.)

I just want to add that you don't want to/can't spend $100 to change your name on an official document that will save you potential trouble, but you can go off and cross-border shop?

only one way to find out....

Actually you don't need your passport yet, not until the new year, you should be fine..
Just make sure you have two pieces of ID like birth cert. and dr. Lic. you should be fine. I shop in the states all the time

To be on the safe side, I would take your marriage certificate with you when you go to cross.

Even if you take your Driver's License and Birth Certificate, your last name still would not match up (if as you state your DL has your married name on it) and it is best to have proof of marriage to prove it is you... just in case! Better safe than sorry!!!

You need *either* your passport *or* ID plus birth certificate. The passport is evidence that you have already presented your ID and birth certificate to a government agency.

They will not ask for additional ID once you present the passport. However, as others have suggested, it might be a good idea to bring a copy of your marriage license to be sure.

Probably not, but you should ask the appropriate officials to be sure.
