U will get driving liscence in three stages
1 Written
2 City Roads
3 High ways
When u pass the written portion (G2 )go to any driving school take few leassons and appear for (G1)
Once u passed again go to school and take few calses about how to drive on high ways, How to enter, how to exit and how the change the Lanes etc
Appear for G Liscence
Best of Luck

You will have to pass the driving and written test to get your Ontario license.

of course.... because you drive in the left side in UK but in Ontario you drive in right side. That means you have to start again from G1.
By the way, if you have more than 10 years (i'm not really sure how many years actually) you can get G1 license test after that, you can get a G2 driving test as soon as you get your G1 license..
and i will give you a tip: after you get your G1 license i suggest you to take a driving school, because if you take a driving school you will know everything about the test(the test is pretty hard actually) and then if you take a driving school your insurance when you buy a car is cheaper...

I know a couple of years ago if you just wanted a Canadian Licence you paid a fee and handed in the one you have (like an exchange) but if you want to keep the one you have, you need to write and exam. And I think you will need to go thought the whole graduated licences thing...

Best bet is to call the Ministry of Transportation in the providence (and city) you will be moving to.

There's three parts to the licence:
1. Take the written test to get a G1
2. Road test for G2
3. Highway test for G

The driving tests are pretty hard, they'll find any reason to fail you.

James Dean
You basically have to start again in Ontario, I am not sure about the other provinces.

You will require to take a drivers test.

Absolutely not. Canada is a very liberal country. Driving tests may be done while walking , running or oven lying on your back. Matter of fact many Canadians simply buy a box of popcorn and walla, there it is a new drivers licence. No problem
