Winter vacation in Canada? |
My parents are unable to travel south this year because my Dad can't get travel insurance right now. Is there somewhere you would recommend my parents to visit. They like warmer temperatures and don't exercise at all, so skiing is out. I just don't want them stuck in the house all winter. |

Vancouver sounds not too bad. Or Osoyos (I'm not sure if it's spelled like that) They don't get much snow. The temp is okay too, not freezing, just cool. |

Victoria actually has more sun in the Winter than Vancouver, and the temperature is slightly warmer. I remember going to visit my Grandmother in February and it was 14C. I had left over 2 metres of snow and -20C in Ontario so I was amazed that Canada had good weather in winter. |

if you want a hot / warm vacation your bet is on vancouver. although its still pretty cold there.. but its the warmest place in canada in the winter. also i would deffinatly recomend montreal and or quebec city. there are sooooo many things to do there, especially in the winter everything from museums to carnivals. I highly recomend montreal. |

I agree with everyone else, BC would be the best. I'm from Southern Ontario and as much as I love it, it is really much more beautiful in BC. However, TO is good for sight seeing and culture (musicals, museums, fairs, shopping etc.).
It all depends on if they want scenery or city! |

Yes, Vancouver is quite mild in the winter. I know some people who live there and say it is like the Portland Oregon area. I have stayed a couple winters in Banks, Oregon (a little west of Portland) and it was bearable temperature wise, but sunshine was definitely lacking.
This year it is Arizona 4 me. |
