I am on a tourist visa to Canada, is there anyway I can work while in the country? I am also interested in moving here permanently, is it possible to apply to become a permanent resident while still on my visa? Thanks! |

You can absolutely not work on a tourist visa or get permanent residency that fast. What you can do is read up on immigration Canada at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp and feel around for jobs. If you have some valuable skills or are willing to do a low skill job in a place where there is a shortage of low skill workforce, you could get an employer to apply for a work permit for you. You would have to leave while the work permit gets issued. It could take a few months.
If you are doing a skilled job, you would have an option to get permanent residency while you are on your work permit. If you are doing a low skilled job, you would only have an option to get permanent residency if you are doing certain jobs as qualified by the provincial nominee programs in BC and AB.

Hello,
I don't think that you will be able to work in Canada if you are there on a tourist visa. Depending on what your nationality is and whether you are over 18 yet under 30 years old you may be able to apply for a working visa, which is valid for 1 year, I believe.
I suggest that you contact the Canadian embassy in your home country. They will tell you what your options are, as well as explain how you should go about applying for citizenship.
