Would Canadians find it strange if a US tourist climbed trees in Canada along 401 Highway?
What if an American decided to build a tree house in Canada just to have a story to tell back in the states about living in the trees of Canada? The novelty of the whole thing.
If in climbing a tree along the South shoulder of 401 highway in Ontario, I accidentally wind up getting near the Canada-US border fence, would the Canadian customs officials find the situation strange? Additional Details What if I offered to pay for the tree?
Avoid clothing such as white tennis shoes that will identify you as an American tourist lolz

Eric,
You are off your medication again. Please stop listening to the voices in your head, and go take the pills now.
Love,
Your mom...

They probably wouldn't think much about it at all because most likely they have seen much stranger things.

I don't think it would matter where you are from for people to find it strange!!
kenoplayer
It would be strange to see 'anyone' climbing trees along the 401.

Yes - Canadians would not only find it strange but they woud immediately assume that you were up to no good. The authorities would be notified and you would be locked up.

Are you serious? If you really want to live in a tree house in Canada, I'd pick a tree that isn't visible to thousands of people every day. There are quite a few of those around. You're not likely to find a tree in southern Ontario that isn't on private property, either. The owner of the tree might have something to say about it. And I think Canadian customs people probably would want to have a good look at anyone in a tree very near the border. Much of the border, if not all, is under camera surveillance, infrared and regular, or has motion detectors.
I've moved to Bermuda
