Would Canadians trade Alberta for California or not?

This is the perfect fix because Alberta is way Conservative politically compared to the rest of Canada. And California is way Liberal politically compared to the rest of USA.

Both California and Alberta have breathtaking picturesque scenic places that are out of this world.

California has vineyards, Yosemite, sierra mountains, breathtaking PAcific Coast highway, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Desert, redwood forests, top universities, it is a paradise and it is quite Liberal more like Canada.

Alberta has badlands, cowboys, Calgary, oil, Canadian Rockies, Banff Springs, JAsper, Fort McMurray, Francophones, and lots of hunting.

So Alberta is like a mild version of Texas + Colorado + Kansas, more consistent with American right-wing-ism.

So would Canada trade Alberta for California? or not?

It's not that big a deal, you can build a road from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan that goes up through the territories and makes an upside-down U and curves back into British Columbia to get around the USA state of Alberta without going through it.

California has around the same population as Canada, it is too large to join us, and as for Alberta even with it's political differences it is still a great part of Canada.

Eric, you couldn't be more wrong. California is a very, very conservative state outside of SF and LA. It's got it's own bible belt the length of the central valley.

Remember, this is the state that PASSED proposition 8 banning gay marriage.

The last 3 our of 4 governors have been republicans.

Liberal California is a myth, I've lived here all 52 years of my life.

Not a chance. Don't want it. I love my Alberta. I love my mountains and my prairies. I loved the government we had before this one and pray this once changes quickly.

I wouldn't want Arnold in charge of my province. Ever. Ick.

I doubt it. Dion said that Alberta is like a cow, they want to keep milking it.

I would not trade, only because Alberta has a VERY good economy...California, not so much.

I very much doubt it. Canada doesn't want that kind of burden.

Sure, I'll take California! Even if it is just as conservative as Alberta, at least they have nicer weather!

Tyler
there's no comparison of the scenery in Alberta and that in California.

yes i would make the trade so there was somewhere warm to go in the winter!

It's just a silly question. We in Alberta aren't now and never will be up for trade. Remember, we're the only HAVE province in Canada and therefore, the rest of this country needs us.
If the silliness continues with our Government, the Alberta Separatist Party will gain a lot of steam!
