We have Great-West medical insurance in US. We would be visiting canada for a short trip of 3 days. Would the current insurance cover me and my family in canada as well?
Yes, if you have a travel insurance rider.
No, if you don't have such a rider.
My feeling is, if you had a travel insurance rider, you would know, because it would be indicated on your coverage id card.

That depends on your insurer. Some do cover out of country travel, others don't. Why don't you call them and find out for sure?

Call them and ask them. They would know more than any of us on Y!A
My3Boys
That all depends if your insurance package includes travel insurance. Check before you leave and buy travel insurance for your trip if you have to.
tuppenybitz
you would need to ask your health care provider
MasterPython
Probably not. You need to phone and ask.

it really depends on your plan.. i would call them and ask just to make sure. We have BC/BS and we usually take out travel health insurance when we go back home to Ontario to visit or I usually pay cash if I need to see my doc.

it depends if it's on your plan. look for travel insurance. I receive my benefits through Great West life (in Canada) and i have travel insurance.
