Would do Canadians think of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia?

Do Canadians from other provinces ever consider touring Canada's Atlantic coast and drinking screech and fishing and drinking the local wine to take in the maritime history of their country?

What do Canadians think of Atlantic Canada? Do French-speaking Canadians still love this part of Canada eventhough it was once more French?

I have gone travelling in Newfoundland and really enjoyed it, and I intend to do a trip through the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia in the next few years. I think most Canadians outside the region wouldn't consider this, though, because it's quite far away. From Montreal, it's about a five hour drive to the coast of Maine or Massachusetts, but more like a 15-hour drive to Nova Scotia.

I don't think most French-speaking Canadians are very familiar with Nova Scotia or Newfoundland. They are much more familiar with New Brunswick because there are still a lot of French speakers there.

.
I've never been but I really want to go, it looks awesome and I've met some great people from there...

I think enough of Nova Scotia that it's my second choice of a place to live, after BC. I haven't been to Newfoundland yet but it's high on my list of places to visit one day.

1) Yes it is pretty country. I had one vacation in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia once.
2) I had no idea wine is made there. I hope it is better than Ontario wine.
3) All that area has been economically depressed for decades. Congrats to Newfoundland for become a "have" province and not getting equalization money from Ottawa.

I like it so much, I married a Cape Bretoner. You do see quite a few Quebec license plates there in the summer.

I've lived in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia (briefly) and Alberta. I have toured Newfoundland. I've visited Terra Nova National Park, stood on Canada's most eastern point and I've been officially screeched in. I stood in the bucket of salt water, kissed the cod fish, sang "I's the Bye" and drank the shot of Newfie screech. Oh yeah, I'm French/English bilingual. I love Canada. Every part of it is interesting and beautiful.
