Hi every one, just want to ask one quick question.
I am Asian and grew up in Europe and I have British accent and people get surprised so much when they talk to mean because of my accent being on Asian.
I am currently in canada and want the part time job at call center where they raise money or get donation through calls. So before applying i was wondering what would happen if they call me for interview, Would my accent be problem?
when i met my friends first, they said they really love my accent and sounds sexy but when i told them the job opportunity , they told me not to apply, so bit confused |

My friend if 3G Customer service has indians in Mumbai answering to British customers with strong indian accents, I dont see why a British accent should be a problem on canadian call centres. loolz
No offence to Indians, just making a clear point

Of course not. Are you sure the accent is why they told you not to go for it? If it really is the accent, your friends are being silly.
My friend works at a call centre that caters specifically to English customers. We're Scottish! The accent barrier isn't an issue - though some English customers can be prejudiced against the Scots. In a case of racism or prejudice he is allowed to hang up, though (and he has!). |

I live in Canada and I get calls from call centres from people whose accents are not British, and which are strong enough that I sometimes have trouble understanding them, so I see no reason why a British accent would be a problem in such work. |
