yup Canadian standards of public education are slightly higher, school receive unilateral funding thus there are no "bad or poor" school in major urban centres. well outside of socio-economic stigma.

Post secondary education in Canada is also highly subsidized thus a university education is obtained for almost every child with the ability to be accepted.

There isn't as many standardized tests in canada, thus the curriculum can focus more upon education as oppsed to meeting quotas and requirement in order to obtain funding.

Canada. is the best. Their educational system is really good.

Do your own thinking!
Yeah, I think so. Most Canadians are startled by what Americans tend to lack in basic knowledge; a US high school diploma doesn't seem to guarantee much knowledge of anything. Literacy and geography seem notably better up here, among other things; living in the States, I was routinely amazed by finding out how much just wasn't, apparently, taught in the schools there.

The absence of "creation science," anti-sex-education weirdos, etc, is also a big plus.

Post-secondary education here is _not_ free as one person suggested, but it's cheaper. The universities are excellent, and don't have the obscene tuition rates of some of the private US schools. That said, tuition for int'l students can go a bit high, so...

No you cant go to college for free here.

I think Canada in most places has a more rounded education system. Not only do we learn about our own past but we learn the history of America, Britian, Romans etc, etc,etc....

It depends on what school they go to, and what major they are interested in, and more. You don't say if they are in elementary school, high school, or at the college/university level. I'm sure that there is as much variety in the quality of schools in Canada as there in in the US, UK, France, Germany, Japan, or any other school.

A lot depends on your children's ability, too. I know a couple that raised 2 kids in one of the poorly rated school districts in my area. One daughter is a college professor now, the other is a medical professional, I think.

It really depends where they will study. For sure education is cheaper in Canada than in the US, even if you are a foreigner. So, it will be more affordable for you to send them to a good school.

If the school is better there then where you live.

The education IS free. You can go to any school you are accepted in, and it's free. Although, the only thing you have to pay are the books the school will supply your child with.

There are good and not so good schools everywhere. I would recommend a private Christian school wherever you are located.

I have heard that Canadians can attend college for free. If it's true, it might be worth it to have them in place in the Canadian school system so they can qualify for that.
