As a Canadian I will try and answer in an unbiased way.

I can't tell you that you should move to Canada but I have traveled extensively in the U.S. and have noticed subtle differences.

Canadians are more left or socially conscious than our cousins in the U.S. Our conservative party is comparable to your democratic party. Canadians are not nearly as religious as Americans. We pay more taxes than you guys but we do get something for that tax, we all get government sponsored health insurance in Canada. Lastly we tend to view the world a little differently that Americans, I am not sure how to describe it but we do.

Yes, I lived there while I was in high school and university. It would be like going home for me even though I'm a US citizen.

I am not from the states, but from the United kingdom, I am moving to Canada in November. I love the country, the people and their fantastic attitude to life. I know I will have a great future in Alberta, I know I will be made welcome, I know I will feel safe. I cannot wait to et out there.

I think if I get the chance, I would. I heard that you get medical coverage no matter what. Unlike in the US, either you have to work to pay for the benefit or be poor and get government help. Besides, Chinese food is good there.

I would love to move to Canada from the USA for the same reasons mentioned above.

The one thing Canadians NEED to know is there are 330,000,000 Americans and though the majority see the world a certain way, there are a sizable number of Americans who align themselves VERY closely with Canada's culture, Canada's values, Canada's policies, and the ONLY thing keeping them in the states is fear of job loss, fear of uncertainty, splitting up of family, and I'd imagine a climate adjustment for some.

But there are a very high number of Americans, not only in the Blue states, who watched an Ontario Senator in November 2004 get on the news and say "Another 4 years of the last 4, we will just ever so kindly exercise 4 more years of patience. And a STRONG number of Americans felt the voice of the Senator North of their border was representing their interests more than their own country's media. Feeling powerless, it is hard for Americans not over airwaves to voice their feelings about Canada, and nobody hears them.

I LOVE your country of Canada and I'm not who I am because I'm an American, I'm who I am because of alll the ingredients that make up my ancestry and who I am as a human being on earth.

edit: Joanne W., make sure all your paper work is correct BEFORE you move to Canada. I notice they are much stricter now than ever on getting in the door, but that strictness doesn't mean they don't LOVE you, it's a fixation on the entry process and don't take it the wrong way.

.
I am in canada!!
