Would you say Toronto is a friendly city?

I was born and raised in Toronto, and I still live here. Toronto is a very friendly and helpful city. We are super Multi-cultural and we respect one another. It is a major city, so there are bound to be some areas that are a little less savoury than others, but overall- Toronto Rocks!

empea
Wonderfully friendly. I went there for the first time last year and am now waiting to immigrate there!
I was expecting a more stressed environment like NY, but it was relaxed, friendly and people seemed so cheerful - especially compared to London and Paris. Everytime I stopped and looked at a map, someone offered to help and even walked me to where I wanted to be. Love it!

Absolutely.

I try to help people find their way and give up a seat on the subway now and then but that doesn't make me unique because so many people do the same. It makes us Torontonian.

lol, I must be Canadian, I almost gave the same answer as Greg! (or close to it)
I've lived in Toronto and just like other Canadian cities, it's great and friendly! There's lots to do there, Canada's Wonderland, Ontario Place, Science Center, CN Tower, beautiful restaurants and hotels...zoo(a big one, I love it and want to back)
It's a huge city as well.

If you have lots of spare change and cigarettes to hand out, you'll have a lot of friends. Toronto has more beggars than Calcutta.

I would say overall, yes. However in some situations, people aren't going out of their way to be friendly. Such as, on the subway in rush hour. Or, driving on our streets. We're pretty greedy drivers I'd say. Well, 75 percent. So when we're gettin down to business, that's what comes first. When it's time to relax, party; or hang around, I'd say we do those right too. And there's always somewhere to welcome you. Enjoy our fabulous city!!
