Yes and No, Yes it is hard for Life Sciences student, you have to be dedicated in your studies and No if you're smart, it makes easier for you, like studying full-time and do part/full time job.

University is as hard or as easy as YOU make it.

I know...I know...it sounds like a BS typical answer, but it's the truth. Most people who go to Uni for the first times, are also getting out from under their parents and on their own for the first times as well.

For some...well for a lot of people...it's nearly too much responsibility and they end up slacking off until midterm or parting entirely too much and get into trouble.

For those who are serious, Uni doesn't have to be 24/7 studying, it can be a great experience. Just be sure you put time aside for real study, also study in groups, that really helps and breaks up the boredom.

But also, don't burn yourself out. Keep in mind you just got done with (I'm assuming) 13 years of school...so it's sort of a let down for most to think..I'm free! I'm free!!!!! I'm....oh crap...more classes....

But, Uni is where real education begins (at least at gradschool) undergrad classes are just easing you into things. It's not hard at all, but it's also no cakewalk either. Be consistent, be on time, show up for classes and have fun!

It does depend on a lot of things. But overall, my experience is that its not hard, as long as you go to class and hand in stuff on time.

Also, seeing as you're only 14, I wouldve appreciated the following advice when I was that age:
- Dont try at all in gr. 9 and 10, or even 11, just pass your courses. They only look at youre gr. 11 marks for early admission. But make sure youre gr. 12 marks are up there.
- Dont go crazy trying to be super-involved in everything in high school. They tell you it'll help you get in, or help you get scholarhsips, but that was me, and it didn't help at all
- GO FAR FAR AWAY FROM HOME. move out, live on res, parrty hard 1st year

No. You just walk in, pay your money and get an automatic "B" just for showing up. </sarcasm>

There's no way to answer that question because it depends on 3 things those being which University you go to, which life science you choose and whether or not you have any aptitude for it.

If you understand the material, do the work and study then it shouldn't be too hard. If you don't, then you'll find it very difficult.

Somewhere I Belong's duck
I attend U of T and yes it is hard. However I went to a hard *** high school so I am currently doing about 1/4th the work I used to do in grade 12. You don't have to pull all nighters and be psycho just don't procrastinate. I mean it is university it's not a joke but there's no reason to be stressed all the time just study when you have work and whenever you have the chance, get outside, chat with friends, talk to people and you will have a good time of it.

I think, in addition to what the first answerer said, it depends what you are used to.

I had taken all high level, and some national university level courses in high school at one of the most difficult high schools in the US. I went to a state University, and compared to my classmates, I had NO trouble falling into a good routine...all my classmates struggled. I had a roommate who had had a much higher GPA than I in High school, but had never had a taste of University work. She went home crying at the end of one semester, and never came back.

If you have had to work hard for your grades all along, University won't be so hard. If you have skated through for twelve or thirteen years, then you might find it pretty hard.
