GAMECOCKS!

Advice on where to go in Caribbean?

My husband and I are trying to plan a vacation for next summer to the Caribbean for our one year anniversary. We want to go somewhere we haven't been & have traveled to Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos, Grand Cayman, Bahamas, and different parts of Mexico. We went to Turks and Caicos last summer for our honeymoon and can't imagine a beach as gorgeous, but I know there's a lot out there to see! We want somewhere like that with gorgeous beaches. We don't want to be let down after Turks and Caicos, so I've been researching a lot but would love some other opinions! Thanks for any advice, ideas, or suggestions!!!

We have always loved Antigua for gorgeous beaches. They boast 365 beaches but we have only been able to make it to about 20 of them. One of our favorite dinner spots is Millers on the Sea. It is right on the beach, open air restaurant, every time we have been there the happy hour has been great fun and there has been some sort of entertainment. Dancing out on the patio with all the stars overhead is amazing.

For a romantic getaway the St. James Club is wonderful because it is an all-inclusive resort that is geared a little more to the adult tourist. It is just secluded enough to feel like you are in a world of your own.

We love staying at Jolly Beach which is also an all inclusive. It is a little more family oriented but has a great beach beach, wonderful pool with swim up bar, great evening entertainment and a nearby marina that you can walk to do pick up any odds and ends you might want or to see some wonderful local artists and pick up some souvenirs.

We spent most of the days on the resort provided sailboats, windsurfers or in the hammocks they have set up on the beach. It was very relaxing.

There is also a Sandals that may be a couples only resort and I have heard great things about that resort as well.

Wherever you stay you need to plan on putting on a very fun sundress and heading up to Shirley Heights Sunday night for their bbq sunset party. It is beautiful and tons of fun. If you are feeling adventurous there is a trail that leads up to the top of Shirley Heights from Nelsons Dockyard.

If your honeymoon is around April then you will have the good fortune of being in Antigua during Sailing week and if that is the case then you should plan on a walking tour through Nelson's Dockyard to see all the boats and all the parties going on - it is very festive and very civilized. My husband and I stopped into a bakery, picked up a loaf of bread and a couple of local beers and sat out on one of the stoney walkways and had one of those evenings that you never forget. It was wonderful.

Have fun!

I would say Antigua would be great. Lots of great beaches and some of them are world renown like Half-moon bay and Dickenson bay. There may not be 365 but i would say like about 100 not just 20. lol

Belize, its the best in central america and the caribbean, great islands look it up. Come and you'll never forget!

Highly Favoured
Come here to Barbados, it is very beautiful with very friendly people and white sandy beaches and sea. You will not regret it. When you come you must check out Oistins on a Friday night and sample some of the famous grilled fish from the Fish Net. See the people dancing in the open air and relaxing. Just come!

I have never been to Caribbean, but I can suggest you a website which helped me a lot to select where to go in Belgium: prontohotel com. They have very good part "destinations" where many advantages of the places are described. Have a look there.
Good luck!
