After a steel drum has been used to cook jerk chicken, can it ever be played again?

I'm interested in cooking with 'jerk' spices, and I heard that in Jamaica they convert their drums into barbecues- is that the end for the drum though?

It is not a literal drum. It is a barrel cut in half and hindges put on so it can open and close and it has a main vent at the top,
and coal is put to fill half of the bottom and the chicken is put above just like a grill.

I would think that if you heat the drum up it would alter the metal structure. Which would mean that the notes in the drum would change....So the answer is yes it is the end of the drum

Absolutely not the end.

Place open drum under 2-hole privy in Jamaica and drag out when full to add JP-4 fuel for speedy burn of content. The roasting smell is more intense than jerk chicken, believe me. Continue process until buttocks or petrol takes a hike.
