All inclusinve Jamaica - Is it wrong to share food with locals? ?

I think my friend has lost her mind. We are leaving for Negril Jamaica in two weeks. My friend dates a local down there who does not work and is very very poor. We had to search for a hotel that will let the locals on the property- We found one that is all inclusive meaning our meals and drinks are included- Today my friends tells me that her bf will be joining us each night for dinner because he is basically starving. I was ok with it assuming that she was going to pay for his dinner. Wrong. She thinks since it is all inclusive that she has a right to bring this guy in and feed him off the buffet. She insists that she is just sharing her food and since the food is included she can share off of her plate with whomever she wants. And she feels the same way about the drinks....She feels that if she goes to the bar and gets a beer and gives it to him, that it's hers to do what she wants with. I can't make her see this is wrong and quite frankly I am scared we are going to get booted from the hotel. She thinks I am crazy and overreacting and has called me coldhearted. What is your opinion?

Well i think that she is wrong, if he is starving she could buy him something, taking him into the hotel... that is just wrong.

i wouldn't be surprised if the hotel employees simply don't let him on the property after they realize that he is eating their food

they probably wouldnt kick you out of the hotel for it, just him. but you never know, if she gives him enough expensive food and beer they could kick you out if they so felt like it

be careful

All inclusives will definitely not let visitors eat or drink. They do carefully watch visitors (if they allow them at all). He could even get arrested for theft of services.

How do I say this gently? Your girlfriend is a slow burner. Trying a stunt like that will get you kicked out of the resort. Meet your starving friend outside the resort each day and buy him/her a meal on the economy

Most all inclusive properties issue a color coded arm band that is used to identify registered guests. An indvidual not wearing an armband will not be allowed to access to restricted areas of the property. They also will not be able to dine or have drinks. What your friend is suggesting is a no no.

id like to know which all inclusive this is because i highly doubt he will be allowed IN the restaurants, maybe the beach but not the restaurants and they will watch to make sure he is not eating and drinking.

Highly Favoured
I doubt very much that he will even be allowed on the property. In Barbados they usually have guards at the door and you have to state your business. That was at Almonds St. Peter.I was staying there and had to show proof that we were guests.

I do not believe that she should be doing this. He might get notice as he might be different to the other guest. No one likes to lose so they will take all measures to see that only guests benefit from their services.

Some hotels might not allow him into the dining room. Others might have a policy that the names of guests might be on a list. This was so for me in Crown Plaza in Trinidad.

What she might have to do is to bring the food from the dining room and give it to him providing that they allow guests in the rooms. Some might and some might not.

If she wants him so bad to have meals there she should book a room for him and then he can eat and drink as he to his heart content. She is only making bad for the fellow and herself and as an extension you too.
