I know. Last time I was there, I went to el aljibe, but I did not pay a cent. My wife's family were invited there and they passed me as one of theirs. I did not give fidel a single cent
For some reason the usual comunists didn't like the truth and they give me thumbs down. Oh, well, at least they cannot beat me like they do in Cuba or put me in the tank |

There are many good restaurants:
Paladares (private restaurants)
La Guarida and Cocina de Liliam are usually regarded as the best. La Guarida has a website.
La Fontana, El Palio, El Diluvio, La Esperanza, are all good.
I also like Vista Mar, El Laurel, Huron Azul.
State restaurants:
El Palenque (the lechon asado is recommended), El Aljibe.
PS none of these are resticted to tourists only, and in many you will see Cubans with money. The restriction is that most Cubans cannot afford to go to them.
PPS more details -
http://www.laguarida.com/index.php
http://www.lafontanahavana.com/La%20Fontana-Inicio-esp.html (The English language text doesn't seem to be working).
Cocina de Liliam is in 46 somewhere about 15, Playa - 209 6514.
El Diluvio is 72 entre 17 y 19, Playa - 202 1531
Vista Mar is 1ra about 24, Playa. El Palio is 26 or 28 entre 1ra y mar.
La Esperanza is 16 entre 3ra y 1ra.
El Laurel is on 5ta beyong the entrance to Marina Hemingway.
Los Nardos opposite the Capitolio is recommended by many. (But there are often queues).
I was in El Templete last night. It was full (we had to wait 10 minutes for a table), and the service was a bit muddled, but the food was fine.
This looks like a useful resource - http://www.cuba-restaurants-guide.com/by_destinations/havana.htm

By Hemingway's hotel, I assume they mean the Ambos Mundos - I have never eaten there, though. |

Beardo knows first hand as he is living right there in Havana.
Here is some more information regarding Havana restaurants/dining, attractions, nightlife, etc.
Some of the restaurants already mentioned by Beardo are listed. The addresses, costs, etc is quoted for you.
