Havana was obviously a beautiful place.
Now it is very sad architecturally but the people are very friendly and pleasant, although the shops are empty and no USA products or advertising!.
It's slowly being restored with foreign investment but it is a crying shame to see all the buildings literally decaying away as the salt air gets into the concrete. The rebar expands and pops the concrete away leaving only rebar, no concrete!
Go into the Government tobacco factory, no dusky maidens rolling cigars on their thighs but very interesting! |

No, but I have always wanted to go. Hopefully, I will get there before Castro passes on. |

I went to Playa Pesquero in Cuba for my honeymoon in Oct 2004. It was the most amazing place I have ever been. The resort of Playa Pesquero was only built in 2004 so was really modern. It has its own private beach, little men who bring the sunbeds to you and move them as the sun moves!! Accomodation was fab, food unbelieveable and the people so friendly. My Husband and I are desperate to go back!! we went swimming with Dolphins in Guardalavaca and did a 3day trip up to Havana which included the World Famous Tropicana show - wow!! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a perfect holiday. All inclusive is the way to go and this hotel has swim up bars too so you really cant complain!! Enjoy!! |

Yes, I have been there 8 times. (Havana, Varadero and Cayo Coco). |

Yes a few times.
Its out of this world. Soooo beautiful!!!!
First time we went was about 9 years ago. we've been 3 times since then and each time its been busier and busier.
The best hotel I've ever stayed in was in Cuba. It's in Guardalavaca. Its called Paradisius Rio De Oro. Its top notch and 5 star plus.
The Cubans are so friendly and welcoming.
Varadero is the better place to stay. If you want to go out of your hotel, there are more things to do in this area.
Its also safe to walk outside your hotel too. |

I have just come back from the hotel Paradisus Rio De Ora in Guardalavaca. This was the best holiday i have had. The hotel, the service, the Cuban people were all fantastic. We hired a moped and went to all the small village's around with gifts it was awesome. |

Yes twice,
what would you like to know?
The cuban people are wonderful, the counrty is wonderful. Havana is a bit run down , but is a heritage site and it will take time to bring back to it's former glory. It is a very safe place. The beaches are stunning the water is a lovely azure blue. Fantistic place. Go and enjoy. |

Fab place. Great music scene, nice people. Superb snorkelling. Food not great, but super-duper cocktails. Try mohito - yum yum! Climiate warm and lovely, even when it's raining or blowing a hurricane (as it was when we were there)!
Avoid the big resorts unless you prefer the company of loads of other Brits and Canadians! |
