Anyone ever flown on Air Jamaica?

How was it? Was there trouble getting to sit next to the person your flying with? I have had problems with that before
Also are the seats pretty spacious? My fince is 6'7" and is usually crammed when we fly

I like flying Air Jamaica. They are friendly, offer better food and drink options, and it has always been a 100% professional experience (you don't feel like you're flying on a second-rate carrier).

Their planes are about the same as any other. My bf is 6'8" and has a problem on any plane (AJ is no worse). The trick is to check in EARLY and ask for an exit row. That row has a lot of extra leg room. Airlines don't assign those seats in advance, and are quite happy to let tall people have them if they are still available (so arrive early).

Yes it is great

No, not very scpacious. Never had trouble getting seats next to each other. I would definitelty request the exit row for you guys - that way he'll have way more leg room.

Oh boy don't get me started on Air Jamaica. probably the worst airline in the industry. Last december we waited at the airport for over 8 hours after paying for our tickets in July. We got bumpled from two flights ( This was the same for over 200 people with young children)

Flight finally left after 10.00 p.m and arrived in Jamaica after 2:00 a.m. We asked for compensation. Noone was there for us we had to take a taxi. We got vouchers for 250 .oo( if you did not ask you did not get. )

The vouchers have been misplaced and communication with A/J around getting them replaced is " vouchers are not replaceable if lost"..... My inconvenience then has not been dealt with in good faith.

Take your chances.

I am not done with them I will be sending my letter to everyone who will listen.

Air jamaica is fine. You shouldnt have a problem getting to sit beside your friend as long as you check in early. If you are late though and the flight is packed as with other airlines they will simply have to put you were space is available. The food is good too. You may have to sit in the front or you'll be uncomfortable with the space.

I just flew it in July, it wasn't too bad, but for a man who's 6'7" i'm not really sure lol. Very friendly flight attendents though.

The first time I drove to another state just to use them because it was a non stop fight and they cancelled the flight and stuck us on a delta stop flight, I was so mad!!! I'm giving them one more chance this October. to tell you the absolute truth, I have flown ALOT and NONE of the airlines are any good at all, the flight attendants are rude, they don't serve meals anymore, they eliminated leg room and made the seats smaller and you can only use the coach bathrooms, {Gawd forbid coach passengers use first class}. It's just a way to get from point a to point b if you don't have any alternative transportation. Hopefully your flight will be moderately quiet,{ no screaming kids} and I sincerely hope your actual vacation destination affords you a great time.

well planes have their measure, your fiancee is pretty tall?

yeah

a very weird airline

I think the plane just waits there till they sell enough tickets

then when the plane is full it leaves, in spite of scheduling and times printed on the tickets, etc

soon come, the buses work that way too, and full really means FULL
